Welcome back to the podcast, friends!
If you're new here, I'm so glad you found my show and we're now connected!
Over the last couple of years I have dealt with different health issues - anxiety levels all over the place dealing with serious life stuff, chronic migraines kicked my ass through 2023, I have had period/hormone issues for years that still aren't sorted out. Although I live mentally and chronically ill, just before migraines took over last year I had FINALLY gotten to a place where I felt good about my overall health/body.
As someone who spent her teens and early 20's self harming, self sabotaging and treating myself like crap in any other way you can think of but finally got out of all those terrible (and dangerous habits) I'm sure you can imagine how scary my body changing was.
Fast forward to now, summer 2024. I have been free of migraines (thanks to a beta blocker I take daily) for 6 months. I am deeply grateful for that. On the other hand, i have physically changed and my physical strength is nowhere what it was a year or two ago.
In today's episode of the podcast friends, I'm sharing this journey with you and the things I currently do to be patient with my body where it's at now, and with how it looks right now so I don't mentally spiral and end up going back to old habits or negative thought patterns.
I know people of all ages who are dealing with body images issues and/or learning to love their body as it is after it has changed a lot (from all different things including illness, pregnancy, surgeries, etc), so I felt it was a good time to bring this topic up on the show! I hope you enjoy and get something good from this episode, friends!
If you resonate with this episode, DM me on Instagram (@thisiskaitey is my handle) so we can connect more! If you know someone who needs to hear this, share the episode on social media and tag me so I can thank you for spreading the word about Triumph After Trauma. I'm so dang glad we're connected <3
