Jesus said to the church of Sardis, "I know your works; you have a name of being alive, but you are dead." This is a call for radical honesty and self-reflection for the church today. How can we learn from the church of Sardis? Verse 3 clearly states the solution to the problem: "Remember, then, what you have received and heard; obey and repent." It starts by realizing how we are self-deceived. Repent, turn away from your sins, and obey God's voice.
