Holding On to Victimhood

It’s sadly common for someone in a relationship to be hurt by their partners, but how we deal with that hurt is so important to our well-being and that of those around us.

While it’s not our fault if we get hurt, how we respond is a choice. We can deal with what has been done to us and move on in a healthy way, or we can hang on to that victimhood, and use it to give us licence to hurt back.

Sometimes those who feel like they are victims even use this to poison others against the one who hurt them, sometimes even turning their children against them.

This week Kimile confronts the uncomfortable fact that often we choose to hold onto our victimhood, the harms we can do, and how to prevent ourselves from doing that.
