189. Why is it crucial to be intentional in what we say, watch, and listen to for our Christian faith? The Power of Words, Media, and Music in Christian Growth.

Believe that you matter- what you do, say, watch, listen to, who you follow, you let influence you, matters!!

1. There are studies that show that what we watch actually can affect your thinking, preferences and even cognitive ability…. And what we listen to can influence us alot…it can impact illness, depression, spending, productivity, and the perception of our world.
2. This is from worldly studies…not christian ones. Talking about the impact of what we watch….do you watch inappropriate shows or movies? Or maybe you watch horror films…opening the door to all kinds of crazy in your home. The spiritual world is real people! WE can’t take it lightly!We are supposed to be in the world, not of the world.
3. I particularly think music is crazy impactful. I think it’s because WORSHIP is so impactful. We were created to bring Him praise and so the enemy(very first worship leader in the world) knows the influence it can have and as such has created a worldly market of basically filth, and has us singing along to craziness and then with that same mouth praising God on Sundays…. Eeek.
4. I know this is more of a conviction for me because my heart leans toward worship so i’m more sensitive to it…again listen to the Holy Spirit's promptings!
5. Ephesians 4:29- Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs. That it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit.
6. A quote I saw when I searched on the google “what does it mean to grieve the HOly Spirit said this: “ When we, deliberately or inadvertently, behave in a way that is contrary to our spiritual improvement it grieves the Holy Spirit; in the same way that a loving parent is grieved when his or her child behaves in a self-destructive manner”
