Show Notes:
Trigger warning: this week’s podcast discusses the death of a child.
We talk about sepsis a lot at Mini First Aid and this week’s episode demonstrates exactly why we feel this is so important. This week, Kate chats with Melissa Mead, Sepsis Trust Ambassador and we hear the story of Melissa’s little boy William, who tragically died of sepsis.
Melissa discusses what happened to her little boy in detail, to make absolutely sure that no parent listening has to face the death of their child from sepsis. You will hear about the signs and symptoms, what to look out for, and the importance of asking the question “could it be sepsis?”
Please note, this is not an easy listen, it’s a story that will break your heart and stay with you. Please take some time after listening to check out all of the resources below including support groups and the Sepsis Trust if you have been affected by today’s episode.
