1. What is a spirit?

o Genesis 8:21: 21 And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination[a] of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.

o Genesis 8:6: Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

o Ephesians 4:23: To be renewed in the spirit of the mind.

o Mark 12:30-31 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ [a]This is the first commandment.31 The second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
