It’s great for the first year, being able to visit the grounds of the famous teams & being able to take their kids, but it’s just got worse & worse this year. I only go because my boy still wants to go. It’s all about money, they don’t care about the fans.
• The leagues are too top heavy financially, with loads more money at the top end and hardly any in the lower end. Clubs have been asking to be relegated in the non-league which highlights the lack of money even though they had their best ever season, finishing 6th, they can’t maintain or upgrade their ground. • I don’t think it’s possible to get the game back, as we knew it. There’s far too much money in there. The only think we might see is a separation where the big clubs go off into some kind of European league & reformat the English Football League. I can’t see any other way of balancing it out.
• One of the nails in the coffin was introducing all-seater stadiums as a must in the top leagues & on top of that introduced allocated seating, Rather than the fans getting in there early together to have a knees-up & create an atmosphere, now everyone’s split up around the ground which is hard to get an atmosphere going.
