The Defined Vs. Undefined Root Center

In Human Design, the Root Center is a pressure center. This is pressure 'to do'. Those with a defined root have consistent pressure to do. Another way to say this is 'fuel' for doing. This can look like a consistent pace at which they work. They literally can't rush! (lol..this is unfathomable to me and always makes me chuckle). Those with an undefined root are inconsistent in their fuel or pressure to do. This means that they can sometimes do nothing. And other times they can do a great deal in a short amount of time. Their pace is inconsistent because this aspect of their design is not 'fixed'. When the undefined root runs from the 'not-self' theme, they are endlessly rushing, trying to finish things to be free of the pressure to do them. In a workplace scenario this can back-fire as the undefined root just ends up getting assigned more work, since they finished everything so quickly. There is a better way than rushing, which ultimately leads to burn-out.
