William Lewis on The Non-Pro Journey

Meet William Lewis from Anderson, Texas. He is a passionate non-pro competitor, show Dad extraordinaire, and President of Stock Horse of Texas for four years. He believes being the father of two boys who show, being deeply involved in the management of SHTX, and going through the ups and downs of showing himself, combine to give him lots of insights into the Non-pro journey.

William Lewis competes in both Stock Horse of Texas (SHTX) and National Reined Cow Horse shows as a Non-pro. His classes range from bridle horses to aged event horses. He is the President of SHTX and the father of two sons who compete, Christopher and Will. The combination of being a show Dad, being deeply involved in the management of SHTX, and loving competition himself has given him comprehensive and ever-evolving insights into the non-pro journey.

William’s focus for himself and as President of SHTX for four years has evolved. He now seeks constant improvement personally as well as for the SHTX members who are his honor to serve.

Stock Horse of Texas puts on 10-12 weekend shows and clinics per year; some exceed 300 horses. The association hosts a World Championship and Derby every Fall. The association provides members with opportunities to ride a better, more broke, and versatile horse.

William lives on his family ranch with his two sons Christopher and Will, and his wife, Stephanie, in Anderson, Texas.
