Have you ever noticed that Genesis chapter 1 is connected to matthew chapter 4. If you look real closely you can see where God created 2 great lights in Genesis 1, the sun and the moon. Matthew 4 Christ is appearing to be that great light to the gentiles, and then goes straight to create lesser lights in Andrew and Peter. When we remember that we are the lesser lights, pride shouldn't be a problem.
