Long COVID and the Adult Patient (Part 1) Evaluation and Credit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MedChat42a Target Audience This activity is targeted toward all physician specialties. Statement of Need Long haulers for COVID-19 have been recognized as a public health concern since the COVID pandemic in March 2020. Approximately 10-30% of patients with SARS-CoV2 will have long term problems. Since that time, little research has been conducted to investigate and better understand post-COVID conditions. The CDC is actively pursuing research to evaluate the long-term effects of COVID-19 to assist in the development of management and treatment strategies. Providers may not be aware of available research and recommendations. Objectives At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to:
  • Define the parameters of Long COVID for the adult patient.
  • Discuss the prevalence of Long COVID associated risk factors.
  • Describe symptoms and management of post-COVID syndrome for adult patients.
