When the Bible speaks of an honoring love towards God, it is not about passionless worship or just some vague preference for God over other love alternatives. It is an encounter with a living God who so faithfully loves that that he was willing to die in your place so you could have a place with him. Love and fear are not opposites. Fear of God is, in the words of the theologian Charles Spurgeon, “the sort of fear which has in it the very essence of love, and without which there would be no joy even in the presence of God.” This week Pastor Austin starts his new series called "Weird".
