This week we are chatting with former football D-Lineman and current endurance athlete Derek Snakenburg!! Derek and I have a lot in common- both from Iowa, both ultra runners, both busy dads in our 30s and both of us played D-Line on the football team for Wartburg College (I only stayed one year..if I would have stayed longer Derek would have been my teammate!). So it was an absolute joy to be able to sit down and chat with him! In this episode he shares the journey that led him to the start line of the Mines of Spain 100 in Dubuque, Iowa for his very first 100 miler!
