Since I started House of Barbrism last fall, a lot of people have been asking about my closet and coming out experiences. Like the cocktease I am, I’ve revealed bits of it here and there but figured it was high time to do so a little more formally. I published a slightly longer version of this piece in the recent issue of the Signal House Edition and read it here with their kind permission. The film I talk about in the essay, The Island We Made, is unfortunately no longer available online, but you can still find a trailer on YouTube if you’re curious.
