Building a world-class eye institute and research laboratory is a large task that takes decades to accomplish. Our guest surgeon Dr Naren Shetty and his family have built Narayana Nethralaya (which literally means temple of the eye) in Bangalore, India. I had a chance to visit this amazing institution and spend time learning about the incredible research, including basic science, clinical, and computational. In this podcast we talk about what it takes to achieve this and how our practices will change in the near future with the addition of new technologies that have come from the research laboratory.
