The New International Version (NIV) of the Bible has been widely used and appreciated for its accessibility and readability. However, it has faced theological objections from various quarters, including when I was sitting in class with the beloved Dr. Frey as the professor. I read from the NIV Study Bible I had. He referred to it as a spurious translation. I hadn’t heard that up to that time. Please pray for Dr. Frey as he suffered a serious stroke recently. He is truly a great man who helped shape my life in faith. Also, for my friend Jim who is undergoing a serious heart procedure. We need it to go as perfectly as it can. Also, for my dear friend, Pastor Russell, who is also having a heart procedure. We pray that God inhabits that surgical suite. That God touches those hands that operate.
