Episode 25: Dr Neal Barnard of the Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine
Manage episode 256924553 series 2577157
Join me for an informative interview with Dr Neal Barnard, Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
He has recently published his latest book, Your Body in Balance: The New Science of food, Hormones, and Health. In this episode, we discuss the role of hormones in various health conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS, dysmenorrhea, and cancer.
Dr Barnard graciously answers my questions regarding the differences between hormones found in sheep versus cow milk, and points to a collection of research indicating soy is not a cause of elevated estrogen levels. We speak of the commonality between cheese and morphine, and the role of popularized fake meat options, such as the Impossible Burger.
Please join me for a conversation rooted in wonderful information on how we can begin making new choices for our health through implementing better nutrition practices based on a myriad of scientific evidence.
