Doctors have a hard time with the title of “coach.” Why is this term so off-putting to our brains?

In today’s episode, I discuss why doctors struggle to identify as coaches. Instead, we circumvent that role by labeling ourselves as mentors or strategists. Coaching is a multi-billion dollar industry and growing. Any negative feeling we have about the term “coach” is internal, and our hesitation is a projection of our own limiting beliefs onto others.

I review the top reasons doctors avoid embracing the term coach. From demystifying perfectionism to worrying about having to step away from treating patients, I encourage you to shift your mindset and stand strong in your work as a doctor coach.

You have a specific set of skills that can help specific people achieve specific results. The demand for coaching is only going to grow. You have everything you need right now to be an incredible doctor coach who generates revenue and has a resounding impact on the people you are meant to serve.
