In this episode, we begin to consider the apostle John's response to the vision of Jesus while imprisoned on the isle of Patmos. In considering his response we begin to dive into a frequent Biblical phenomenon - that of God's transcendence and His imminence, and how often these two seemingly juxtaposed concepts are presented in harmony to one another in the experience of His people. John at the same moment was both stricken with the glory and exaltedness of Jesus, but also of His merciful gesture to John as He sets his hands upon the apostle and declares, "fear not..."
