“Branding is more than just a logo.” — Christin O’Bryan
We have all heard the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” but let’s be honest; first impressions matter. We pick up a book and immediately start judging the contents by what we see. Whether it’s a book, a house, or a Christian school, what we see impacts how we perceive and interact with it. On this episode of the Teacher Edition podcast, Jenny Copeland talks with brand specialist Christin O’Bryan about branding, marketing, and design for Christian schools. This episode is for you whether you are an educator or a school administrator.
Questions answered on this episode:
- What is “branding”?
- What is the impact of branding?
- What is the difference between branding, marketing, and sales?
- How do schools distinguish themselves with who they are?
Every Christian school wants to stand out among others and to be known for their values and mission. Christin gives the listener four key questions to help discover their uniqueness as a Christian school:
- What do we do?
- Why do we do it?
- Who is it for?
- How can we create an experience based on the answers provided above?
Christin explains how schools can effectively and consistently market themselves. Effective branding influences how a school communicates its mission and values and in turn, helps create an impact on the students, families, and communities.
