It’s a process to learn to listen to Holy Spirit and follow his guidance by His still small voice, instead of being led by how we feel, or what we can taste, see, touch, or smell.

Proverbs 20:27 says, “The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.” Before you can understand how God leads and guides you by Holy Spirit, you have to understand your nature. You have to understand that you are a three-part being. The real you is a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body, according to 1 Thessalonians 5:23 which says, “Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.”

Romans 8:14 and 16 says, “ For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.” Proverbs 20:27 says, “The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.” According to these scriptures, God guides you through your spirit.

Paul call’s your spirit man the “inward man” and Peter calls your spirit man the “hidden person of the heart.” Throughout the New Testament when you read about the heart, it is referring to your spirit man – the real you. If you’ll think of your spirit man in this way, it will help you understand what the Bible is saying, and it will help your faith grow stronger.

You always win spiritual battles in the spiritual realm. Everything you need is in the spiritual realm and you receive it by faith with your spirit man, the real you, so you can walk in total victory!
