Peter Gadiot ("Velvet Buzzsaw", "Queen of the South") has joined the cast of the acting version of the popular anime "One Piece". The project was announced in 2017, but the work has only gathered pace in recent months. The series is created for the Netflix platform.

"One Piece" - what is the original about?
"One Piece" is a Manga by Eiichirō Oda, created since 1997 until today. Its animated version appeared on screens more than two decades ago. Over 1,000 episodes have already been aired, and feature-length films have also been produced and distributed in cinemas.
The protagonist of the series is Monkey D. Luffy, a boy with a flexible body like a rubber, who sets off on a journey in search of the title treasure. Its owner will be able to call himself the king of pirates. During a long journey, the protagonist recruits new crew members, he comes across adventures and dangers. Shanks, played by Gadiot, is the legendary adventurer who inspired Luffy to search for One Piece.
Adaptation is done by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, who are also showrunners of "One Piece". The gentlemen also became executive producers of the series, along with Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and Eiichirō Oda, the original's creator.
The series also includes Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, Taz Skylar, Morgan Davies, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Aidan Scott, Jeff Ward, McKinley Belcher III and Vincent Regan.
The series has already started production, photos will be taken in Cape Town.
Netflix - manga and anime adaptations
