ゴールデンウィークが終（お）わって普通（ふつう）の生活（せいかつ）に戻（もど）りました。今回（こんかい）はそれぞれのゴールデンウィークについて報告（ほうこく）しました。遊園地（ゆうえんち）へ行（い）き、ジェットコースターの恐怖（きょうふ）を克服（こくふく）しようとしたとらくん。ギネス記録（きろく）もあるほどの怖（こわ）いジェットコースターにチャレンジした結果（けっか）はどうだったのでしょうか？一方（いっぽう）私（わたし）は、生徒（せいと）に会（あ）いに新潟県（にいがたけん）へ一人旅（ひとりたび）をしてきました。何（なに）もないと思（おも）っていた新潟（にいがた）ですが、訪（おとず）れた村（むら）は想像（そうぞう）と違（ちが）う不思議（ふしぎ）な、面白（おもしろ）いところでした。のんびりした新潟（にいがた）と、ドキドキのジェットコースター。全（まった）く違（ちが）う、二人（ふたり）のゴールデンウィークの対比（たいひ）をお楽（たの）しみください。

Golden Week has ended and we've returned to our regular lives. In this episode, we reported on our respective Golden Week experiences. Tora-kun went to an amusement park, trying to overcome his fear of roller coasters. How did his challenge on a terrifying roller coaster, even with a Guinness record, turn out? On the other hand, I took a solo trip to Niigata Prefecture to meet with students. While I thought Niigata would be uneventful, the village I visited was surprisingly different from what I imagined, full of mysterious and interesting places. Enjoy the contrast between the relaxing Niigata and the thrilling roller coaster, showcasing the completely different Golden Week experiences of the two of us.

日本語（にほんご）は「です・ます」の丁寧形（ていねいけい）以外（いがい）にも会話（かいわ）の普通形（ふつうけい）、ビジネスで使（つか）う尊敬語（そんけいご）など大体（だいたい）大（おお）きく分（わ）けて３つのスタイルがあり、勉強（べんきょう）しているみなさんにとっては本当（ほんとう）に難（むずか）しい言語（げんご）だと思（おも）います。今回（こんかい）、またオーストラリアの高校生（こうこうせい）の使（つか）っている教科書（きょうかしょ）から、普通形（ふつうけい）から敬語（けいご）、敬語（けいご）から普通形（ふつうけい）にする、というドリルがあったので、ネイティブがやるとどうなるかやってみました。特（とく）に普通形（ふつうけい）に関（かん）しては、仲（なか）のいい友達（ともだち）と話（はな）すトーンでやると方言（ほうげん）が出（で）てしまい、メチャクチャになってしまいましたが、愛知（あいち）の人（ひと）はこんな話（はな）し方（かた）をするんだ、と参考（さんこう）にしてください。笑 Japanese has roughly three major styles: the polite desu/masu form, the casual form used in conversation, and honorific language used in business. For learners, it's truly a difficult language to master. This time, I found a drill in a Japanese textbook used by Australian high school students, where you convert from the casual form to the honorific form and vice versa. We tried doing it ourselves as native speakers to see how it would turn out. There are two amusement parks in Japan famous for having the scariest roller coasters: Nagashima Spa Land in Mie Prefecture and Fuji-Q Highland near Mt. Fuji. In this episode, we focused on Nagashima Spa Land in Mie Prefecture and talked about the popularity rankings of its roller coasters. It might not be very well-known to people overseas, but if you want to experience thrill rides even scarier than those at Disneyland or Universal Studios Japan—both popular tourist spots—this park is highly recommended. It's easy to get there from Nagoya, so if you visit Japan, definitely consider checking it out! 来月（らいげつ）からとらがマレーシアに行（い）くため、ポッドキャストが2人（ふたり）でできなくなってしまいます。そこでとらの代打（だいだ）として、とらのお父（とう）さん「インドネシアおじさん」を考（かんが）えています。今回（こんかい）はとらが都合（つごう）が悪（わる）く収録（しゅうろく）できなかったため、急遽（きゅうきょ）インドネシアおじさんと収録（しゅうろく）し、その出来栄（できば）えを試（ため）してみました。トピックとして、自動車業界（じどうしゃぎょうかい）で働（はたら）く人（ひと）としてトランプ大統領（だいとうりょう）の自動車関税（じどうしゃかんぜい）をどう考（かんが）えているのかを聞（き）いてみましたが、想像（そうぞう）していたのとは少（すこ）し違（ちが）う回答（かいとう）が来（き）ました。初（はじ）めての収録（しゅうろく）なので、あまり上手（じょうず）に話（はな）せていないかもしれませんが、「おじさん」の感想（かんそう）などあればぜひぜひお待（ま）ちしております！ Since Tora will be going to Malaysia next month, we won’t be able to record the podcast together for a while. Feeling doubtful about raising children in a big city like Osaka, my friend moved to the nature-rich Shikoku. However, it seems that they had trouble fitting into the social dynamics in their new environment. Rather than just interpersonal relationships, they said they struggled to adapt to the mindset and behaviors of the people there, which were influenced by the unique characteristics of Shikoku as an island. This is not something limited to Shikoku—it can also be said about Okinawa and even Japan as a whole. We talked about the cultural traits shaped by the closed worlds of islands and rural areas. Kitakyushu City is in Fukuoka Prefecture, but it’s right next to Yamaguchi Prefecture, so we also explored the charm of Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi has been featured in The New York Times , but we have never been there. We looked into what makes it so appealing. 10月(じゅうがつ) の終(お) わりに、2 年(ねん) ぶりに大阪(おおさか) に旅行(りょこう) してきました！2 年前(ねんまえ) はまだコロナの影響(えいきょう) も少(すこ)しあり、観光客(かんこうきゃく)も少(すく)なめでしたが、今回は大阪(おおさか)の中心部(ちゅうしんぶ) 、心斎橋(しんさいばし) あたりは観光客(かんこうきゃく) で溢(あふ)れていました。世界中(せかいじゅう) からの観光客(かんこうきゃく)でいっぱいで、大阪弁(おおさかべん)はおろか、日本語(にほんご) すらあまり聞(き) こえてこない状況(じょうきょう) で驚(おどろ) きました。そんな中(なか) でいつも通(どお)り、串カツ(くしかつ) を食(た)べたり、大阪(おおさか) グルメを堪能(たんのう) しましたが、それ以外(いがい) にも今回はアメリカ村(むら) でたくさんのかっこいい古着(ふるぎ) を見(み)つけ、新(あたら) しい大阪(おおさか) の楽し(たの) みを見(み)つけました。大阪(おおさか) に旅行(りょこう) する予定(よてい) のある人(ひと) には役(やく)にたつアドバイスもしていますので、参考(さんこう)にしてください。 At the end of October, I traveled to Osaka for the first time in two years! Two years ago, there was still some impact from COVID-19, and there weren’t many tourists. This time, however, the central area of Osaka, around Shinsaibashi, was overflowing with tourists. It was packed with visitors from all over the world, and I was surprised to hardly hear any Japanese, let alone the Osaka dialect. As usual, I enjoyed some kushikatsu and indulged in Osaka’s famous gourmet foods. But this time, I also discovered a new side of Osaka by finding lots of cool vintage clothes in Ame-Mura (America Village).
