In 2011 we had the 21st fastest-growing company in the country. We were on the Inc. 500 List, then again in 2012 and 2013. We even won Best Places to Work awards all three years. We did so well, we sold ourselves out of an opportunity and ended up having to cut the size of our company and do layoffs.

So many companies right now are in the same situation. Where your business has shifted, numbers have gone down, and it is time to make cuts. This is one of the most difficult things we go through as entrepreneurs, and it's also one of those things we rarely talk about.
