#### Lightning: A Natural Spark Discharge Lightning is a natural spark discharge that occurs within the atmosphere or between the atmosphere and the Earth's surface. It is a large-scale phenomenon that involves the creation of a highly electrically conductive plasma channel within the air. This plasma channel is formed when a discharge of current flows within the air, rapidly heating the air up to about 25,000°C. #### Formation of the Plasma Channel The formation of the plasma channel during lightning is a result of the electrical properties of the atmosphere and the discharge of current. The exact mechanisms of lightning formation are complex and involve processes such as preliminary breakdown, stepped leader formation, and return stroke. During the return stroke, a massive flow of electric current occurs, rapidly superheating the completed leader channel and forming a highly electrically conductive plasma channel. The core temperature of the plasma during the return stroke can exceed 50,000 K, causing it to radiate with a brilliant, blue-white color. #### Thunder and Lightning The high temperatures generated by the current flowing through the plasma channel cause the air to rapidly expand, creating the sound we hear as thunder. Thunder is produced by the rapid heating of the air in the lightning channel, which leads to an increase in air pressure. The pressure produced from the stroke plasma, which is much greater than the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere, causes the channel to expand at supersonic speeds, ultimately producing a sound wave heard as thunder. #### Plasma and Lightning The plasma channel created during lightning is an example of terrestrial plasma in action. Plasma is the fourth state of matter and is a highly ionized gas. It plays a significant role in various astrophysical phenomena, including stars, gaseous nebulae, and other cosmic phenomena. #### Conclusion In summary, lightning is a natural spark discharge that occurs within the atmosphere or between the atmosphere and the Earth's surface. It creates a highly electrically conductive plasma channel within the air, which rapidly heats up the surrounding air to about 25,000°C. Electrical engineers study the physics behind lightning formation, as well as the processes that lead to static charge buildup in storm clouds and the transformation of air into conductive plasma. Lightning strikes are a common example of high-energy plasma phenomena, with the intense electrical discharge creating a plasma channel responsible for the bright flash of light and the sound of thunder(https://www.sciencelearn.org.nz/resources/239-lightning-explained)[[3]]. Plasma, the fourth state of matter and a highly ionized gas, plays a significant role in various astrophysical phenomena…

The oligarch of the elite forms under democracy. The concept of the "iron law of oligarchy" suggests that rule by an elite, or oligarchy, is inevitable within any democratic organization as part of the "tactical and technical" nature of bureaucracy[1]. The central bank has been keen to show it is not financing the government's budget deficit To do this, it uses the debt-to-GDP ratio, which is the latest measure of its efforts to wean the economy off its addiction to debt But even if it is trying to stop the borrowings, it cannot do that overnight, especially not with so much debt to service The central bank can try to push up the interest rate it charges banks to borrow from it This is called repo or repurchase operations But the repo rate is generally not much higher than the government bond yield, which is why the latter is the true measure of the central bank's write-downs So, if the 10-year government bond yield goes up, the central bank is having to buy more bonds to keep injecting money into the banking system The central bank cannot simply raise the rate it charges banks to borrow from it as there is a risk of savers dumping their money into the banking system because of the higher interest rate And that is why it has been pushing up the repo rate, which is a less risky measure The central bank has also been buying foreign currencies from the market to keep the yuan stable The 10-year government bond yield is also a reflection of sentiment on the mainland If investors are confident about the economy, they will demand a higher yield for the bonds they lend to the government An increase in the yield is also a way of showing how much investors are not convinced by the central bank's efforts to stabilise the yuan If the central bank is losing the battle to stabilise the yuan, investors will demand a higher return to lend money to the government…

According to the Electric Universe theory, space and matter are essentially an electromagnetic field in a state of constant flux. This means that while the amount of matter and space may change, the process itself is infinite.…

1 Why have the discovery of black holes become so important to the electric universe proponents 15:03
There are a few reasons. One is that black holes seem to defy the laws of physics as we understand them. For example, black holes are thought to be incredibly dense objects, with a very strong gravitational pull. But they also have a very high temperature, and emit a lot of radiation. This contradicts our understanding of gravity, which says that objects with a strong gravitational pull should be cold. Another reason is that black holes are thought to be surrounded by a " event horizon." This is a region of space from which nothing can escape, not even light. This goes against our understanding of the universe, which says that everything is made of particles that can move around freely. Lastly, black holes are thought to be at the center of galaxies. But, according to the electric universe theory, galaxies are actually electrically powered systems. So, if black holes are at the center of galaxies, it would mean that they are powering them, which goes against our current understanding.…

The most important factor in the abundance of oil is the continued growth in global population, which is projected to top 9 billion by 2050 The world population is expected to grow from 6 7 billion today to 9 billion by 2050 The growth in population will come from developing countries, in particular China and India, with their fast-growing economies The amount of oil used to produce the goods and services consumed in the world will increase with the growth of population, incomes, and standards of living Oil is the dominant energy source for transport fuels and will remain so for decades to come The oil industry has invested heavily in finding and developing new sources of oil and in improved recovery methods to extract more oil from existing fields This has resulted in a great increase in the amount of oil available to the world…

The Russian reserve, the third largest in the world, is invested 40 percent in the euro and 27 percent in the dollar. The Russian central bank is not selling euros or dollars in a rapid rate. China has initiated currency swap with Russia to help stablize the ruble and prevent panic sell of the euro. China probably has about a trillion dollars worth of euros. If the Russian central bank panicked and began sell off of the ruble then china may be able to buy some of the sell off. The Russian central bank has indicated it won't sell it portion of euros. However, the Russian central bank has 7 percent bad loan defaults and 7 to 8 percent inflation. Interest rates in Russian must rise to offset hyperinflation and food price surges. The Russian central bank continues to buy gold indicate failing confidence in currencies and world economic growth. Russia's economic growth depends on oil sales to Europe and china. If these economies show signs of weakening more distress will be place on the Russian central bank. A fed bailout will be voiced, but unlikely due to the severe political backlash over the failed previous two bailouts that benefit big bank…

1 why will military tensions with the us cause sell off of us companies in a way that would help China 3:51
the cics still own a lot of us companies, just not as much as they used to I agree that the currency sell-off is one of the big reasons The other is that they are diversifying out of U S companies and into other assets Also, they are diversifying out of Us stocks and into other asset classes, especially Us bonds If the yuan is not the world reserve currency, we'll get a lot more of that But if the yuan becomes the reserve currency, then we'll see more of this: the cics still own a lot of us companies, just not as much as they used to But if the yuan becomes the reserve currency, then we'll see more of this Why will China sell off of bonds cause inflation of the yuan and treasury notes? The answer is that China’s holdings of us debt are driven by China’s own capital flight and the desire to balance its books For example, should the value of the dollar increase in China’s trading partners currencies, China’s exports fall, causing a capital outflow The government can choose to print the money to make up for the lost revenue, thus fueling inflation, or it can sell off treasury notes to make up for the lost revenue At the same time, China’s holdings of us debt are driven by the policies of the United States If the us Government inflates the currency, other countries will inflate their currencies to maintain their competitiveness If the us Government continues to run deficits and borrow, other countries will follow suit This drives up the value of the dollar on the foreign exchange markets China’s exports rise, demand for its currency rises, and China must print currency to keep up with the demand However, China has already been printing currency to keep up with the demand Therefore, it has had to sell off some of its treasury notes to keep the exchange rate from soaring too high The sell off of us Treasury notes is the driving force behind the decline in the value of the dollar What’s the implication of this for us? First, the us Government should be on the horns of a dilemma If it does not act to restore confidence in the value of the dollar, it will lose its reserve currency status This will cause the dollar to plunge in value That would make imports more expensive, causing the trade deficit to expand That would cause the dollar to plummet further However, if the us Government does act to restore confidence in the value of the dollar, it would be reducing the value of the us debt, which is also held by the public This would drive up interest rates and force the us Government to reduce its spending to compensate for the rise in interest rates This would cause the economy to contract further, making the us debt burden even higher…

Interest rate swaps
M
ML - The way the world works - analyzing how things work

Interest rate swaps are used by banks and other financial institutions as a means of hedging their interest rate exposures The reason that banks use interest rate swaps is that they help to manage their interest rate risk Interest rate risk is the risk that a banks net income will be adversely affected by changes in interest rates Interest rates are constantly changing, and there is always the possibility that interest rates will go up, rather than down Banks try to manage this risk by either selling or buying interest rate swaps In a typical interest rate swap, the bank sells an interest rate, which is usually based on the LIBOR, in exchange for a fixed interest rate The bank is, in effect, selling the floating rate risk from its deposit portfolio to the counterparty, who is then assuming the risk In a typical interest rate swap, the bank sells an interest rate, which is usually based on the LIBOR, in exchange for a fixed interest rate An interest rate swap is a contract between two parties, each of whom agrees to make periodic payments to the other party In an interest rate swap, one party agrees to make payments based on a fixed rate, and the other party agrees to make payments based on a floating rate, usually the LIBOR The two parties exchange the payments, so that the party receiving the fixed rate makes payments to the party receiving the floating rate In an interest rate swap, the floating rate is usually based on the LIBOR The LIBOR is an acronym for the London Interbank Offered Rate, which is an interest rate based on the interest rates at which banks lend unsecured funds to other banks…

Outflows are caused by interest rate differentials and exchange rate changes As foreign currencies weaken against the dollar, foreign interest rates become more attractive and foreign securities become cheaper When the foreign currency strengthens, interest rates and bond prices fall This is also true for bond investors in the U S If they see the dollar strengthening, they increase their purchases of foreign securities for sale in their countrys currency When interest rates and yields in the U increase, investors in the U have less incentive to invest in foreign securities and vice versa There are also the relative returns on bond investments An investor in the U may have a higher return on bonds of a domestic corporation than on government bonds of a foreign country This is due to the fact that a diversified portfolio of corporate bonds may have a higher return than an equal-dollar amount of foreign bonds of a diversified portfolio The investor must compare the difference in the risk of the two bond portfolios If the risk is the same or nearly so, then the investor would choose the higher return Finally, there are investment decisions based on the expected currency movements When the dollar is strengthening against the Japanese yen, Japanese investors may be more likely to sell yen and buy dollars As the dollar strengthens against the yen, the Japanese investor will expect the yen to depreciate against the dollar in the future This is called a carry trade The investor borrows yen at a low interest rate, converts it to dollars and invests the dollars at a higher interest rate The investor hopes to make a profit on the interest rate differential The carry trade is only profitable when the dollar is strengthening against the yen If the dollar is weakening against the yen, the investor will be losing money Which has a greater impact on capital flows, interest rate differentials or exchange rate changes? Interest rate differentials and exchange rate changes have a greater impact on capital flows Exchange rate changes have little effect on capital flows This is due to the fact that many international investors are not currency speculators They are usually long-term investors who do not respond to short-term changes in the exchange rate What is the difference between a short-term and long-term investor? A short-term investor is an investor who invests in a security for a relatively short period of time The fed policy of new zero interest rates narrows the gap between short term and long term bond rates . The Banks profit margins decrease to less than 1 percent . Fear of default increases from the intense demand by shareholder for earnings . Dollar carry trade occurs when bond yields become extremely low , bond prices go up on borrowing by speculators . The speculators borrow dollars to invest in Australia , South Africa , and Japan . The dollar index declines from lack of foreign demand . The buying power of the dollar is less and imports cost more money . More money is financed from foreign countries . Speculator take short term profits by shorting the dollar betting on its further decline due to increase deficit spending and rising inflation and taxes . Manufacturing production declines during periods of high interest and taxation shifting more jobs overseas to capture profits .…

there are two major factors affecting the supply and demand for oil The first is the amount of oil that is produced The second is the demand for oil 1) Oil production is rising in the United States and Canada The United States is currently producing about 18.6 million barrels of oil per day https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=268&t=6 Production in the United States has grown rapidly in recent years due to the unconventional oil boom called shale oil. The increase in production has led to a glut of oil The oil glut has caused a massive decline in oil prices since the summer of 2014 The price of West Texas Intermediate crude oil has dropped from $107 per barrel in June 2014 to $47 per barrel in March 2015 . Today the price of crude oil has been affect by m1 money supply increases in 2020 or in other terms inflation https://www.macrotrends.net/1369/crude-oil-price-history-chart 2) Demand is dropping in the United States and China The United States is currently consuming about 19.8 million barrels of oil per day The last time the United States consumed less than 18 million barrels of oil per day was in 1996 https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=33&t=6 The United States is expected to have the slowest rate of growth in oil consumption of the world's top 20 economies between 2012 and 2035 The United States is expected to use about 18 4 million barrels per day in 2035 . The public schools should provide both concepts of evolution and the creation theology to their students. The students should be free to read and quote the Holy Bible in school. Comparative analysis of both theories should be allowed. Evolution is not a fact, it is a theory. Evolution should be subject to scrutiny and critical thought, not accepted and taught as truth. The merits of creation should be debated and discussed in school, as well. The academic pursuit of knowledge and religious tolerance does not establish religion. The government is not to establish a religion. The court applied this standard to people deflecting the real intent of the Establishment clause. Individuals should be free to choose the religion of their choice based on the free market of ideas and doctrines. Prayer and religious discussion were not issues to be applied by the Establishment clause. Individuals have the power to establish religion. Individuals can choose which religion, religions or none of them to support. That is our right.…

We came to earth to get a body and to learn to love through trial and tribulation. Love is the human heart. It should be our all. When we lose what we love, it should and will hurt. Loss is part of the great plan. Enduring to the end is suffering loss and pressing forward with steadfastness and hope. We will be restored to what we have lost. It means seeing the big picture and a long way down the line. Sometimes it is hard to see the big picture. As mortals, we don’t see or recognize the light God provides and shines on us. We can’t see what full recovery is like. We keep going a little at a time. It will be greater and better than we thought. Life is not perfect, easy or fair, but it is good. The journey of life is long, but eventually, we need to arrive at the end of our journey with honor and dignity. We feel proud of our accomplishments. The journey of life is gaining relationships and doing things for people—serving others as God would have us serve them. God will review with us our life events. We can trust He will remember our sincere communications with Him. We matter to God, and with His inspiration, we shall never thirst in this desert called life.…

many people have become very familiar with the current financial system, but I have found that many people do not really understand why the current financial system works the way it does. Financial systems are designed to create scarcity and exclusive privilege for the elite. Inflation is causing money death. More money is transferring to the top. There are a number of reasons for this Firstly, the project may fail to engage the people it is trying to help and may not achieve the desired outcomes This lack of engagement is at the heart of many projects and can be attributed to a number of factors including a lack of ownership, a lack of trust, a lack of commitment, a lack of engagement and a lack of empathy They also often have a lack of clarity over who they are trying to help and why they are doing it Many projects are often far too complex to deliver and are so large scale that they can overwhelm the communities they are trying to help A lack of understanding of the culture of the people they are trying to help is also a major problem A good example of this is a project to help the street children in South America The project was very well meaning and the social workers had done their homework and tried to understand the culture of the people they were working with They had also tried to understand why the children were on the streets and had tried to understand what it was like to be on the streets They had also tried to understand how the children lived and what their daily lives were like However, they hadnât tried to understand how the children felt about being on the streets They hadnât tried to understand how the children felt about being homeless This was a fundamental flaw and was the major factor in why their work never really achieved any significant results The social workers had not tried to understand how the children felt about being on the streets They had not tried to understand how the children felt about being homeless They didn’t understand how the children felt about the fact that they had to live on the streets and the fact that they had no means of support They also didnât understand how the children felt about the fact that they had no choice but to live on the streets The project failed.…

He wants us to become like Him, a person who is loving, kind, unselfish and patient. These attributes are charitable and beneficial to others. God can help us change bad habits in our lives. He can help us overcome these habits in favor of compassionate and understanding behaviors. We can feel that we belong in God’s home. We can feel accepted by the Lord. We can feel He cares for us. We can feel our lives and actions matter to God. We can feel alive and blessed.…

Prior to the Civil War, the south was losing to the north’s industrialization and resulting wealth. Slavery was not popular among both groups. The south could not get back their former power through technology change. The south believed they could get back their former power through slavery. The south privately knew that slavery was not sustainable, but their pride would not allow them to accept the poverty status they were in. The end result was a Civil War over the issue of slavery. The south could not use slavery to maintain their power. When empires become rich by inflation, people become dependent, morality decays, consumer spending becomes excessive, and entertainment rules supreme; but liberty is lost. Empires require the support of the people. The real wealth of the middle class declines in an empire. It is during periods of high economic volatility that politically dominant groups transfer the cost of warfare and social programs onto the working class and class division forms. More middle class individuals move into poverty, while more middle class wealth transfers to the top echelons of society.…

Russia, with the help of China’s money, will win the war against the Ukraine. America has known there exists no missile shield against a Russian first strike missile attack. The U.S. will enter into a world war against Russia as it attacks with nuclear weapons the eastern coastal U.S. cities. Russia will lose the ground war to the U.S. and it’s allies and cease to exist as a political and economic entity. The ground war will spread across the world including North Korean ground troops. There will be some fighting in America against North Korean ground troops transported by Russian aircraft to five airports which the Russians know how to navigate. Chinese troops will march from Canada down through Washington into California. The primary goal of these troops is to open a trade route for agriculture goods from Idaho, Oregon and Washington. This region will be known as the United Nations biosphere. Large corporate control of these resources will be managed by the Chinese. Chinese troops will push upward through Mexico. The U.S. army will have some victories but become exhausted. The final rescue will come from the lost tribes within Siberia who will realize the evil that has befallen America. The soldiers will arrive helping the U.S. Army defeat the Chinese and the North Koreans.…

God’s mysteries are deep, and He only can reveal His mysteries for the hard questions in life. It is not our job to explain to others the mysteries of God. Many are just for our own use and understanding. Occasionally, if the circumstances are right and we feel safe in sharing our personal experiences and understandings, we can do so to edify others in need. We learn the mysteries of God because of who we are. We can ask questions of God, expecting answers over time because God loves our experiences, insights and good works.…

Quantum Dots contain only a few hundred atoms. Because the electrons in a quantum dot are confined to widely separated energy levels, the dot emits only one wavelength of light when excited. The size of the dot determines its electronic, magnetic, and optical properties. Quantum Dot Corporation has developed a QD cadmium selenide nanoparticle for use as biological labels. Researchers can tag proteins and nucleic acids with QD and illuminate them with ultraviolet light and the crystal will fluoresce at a specific wavelength and show the location of attached proteins. How does a QD work? An organic dye molecule absorbs only photons of light with just the right energy to lift its electrons from their quiescent state to one of the higher levels available to them. The incident light must be exactly the right wavelength or color. The molecule will emit a photon when the electron falls to a lower energy level. Colloids: nanoparticles in suspension. IBM is exploring using colloids to build ultrahigh density data storage. IBM is using colloids containing magnetic nanoparticles 3 nm across, each composing of about 1,000 iron and platinum atoms. The colloid is spread on a surface and the solvent allowed to evaporate and these nanoparticles crytalize into 2 or 3 dimensional arrays. These arrays could hold trillions of bits per square inch. Cantilevers: IBM is exploring using atomic force microscopes to screen samples for certain genetic sequences. They attach short strands of DNA to the tops of cantilevers. When genetic material carrying a complementary sequence binds to the anchored strands, it induces a surface stress, which bends the cantilevers subtly, by use nanometers, but enough for detection. Dendrimers: An dendrimer is an artifical molecule. Dendrimers are globular molecules about the size of a typical protein, but they do not come apart or unfold because they are held together with stronger chemical bonds. Dendrimers can be engineered to transport DNA into cells for gene therapy. Dendrimers offer control. It may be possible to design dendrimers that spontaneously swell and liberate their contents oly when the appropriate trigger molecules are present. This ability would allow a custom-made dendrimer to release its load of drugs I just the tissues or organs needing treatment. Nanoshells: Nanoshells are extremely small beads of glass coated with gold. Nanoshells capture energy in near-infrared fashion. Such a nanoshell could be made to deliver drug molecules at specific times by attaching it to a capsule made of heat-sensitive polymer. The capsule would release its contents only when gentle heating of the attached nonshell caused it to deform. Another more dramatic application envisions connecting nanoshells with antibodies. The antibodies attach to the tumor cells and the nanoshells are heated using high power infrared sufficiently to destroy the cancer cells, while leaving nearby tissue unharmed.…

We strive to learn wisdom from studying the word of God as He did. How do we overcome the world? We overcome the world through understanding and living the doctrines of Christ. When we live righteous and obedient lives according to the commandments and will of God, we can access additional spiritual strength from Christ. What are the signs we have overcome the world? The first sign is peace. We can gain peace from the exhausting paces of the fallen world. We dwell upon the peaceful things of the kingdom of God. We are free from the behaviors of selfishness, carnality and sensuality. Another sign is we love the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ more than anyone or anything. Lastly, why should we attempt to overcome the world? First, because Christ asked us to overcome the world and follow His example. The great blessing of the atonement is that it applies to everyone. Everyone can accept the invitation to draw upon the Lord’s strength to overcome the world. Christ can give power where our own weaknesses would prevent us from victory. He is our advocate and support. We can trust Christ to help us let God’s will prevail in our lives.…

One of my favorite forms of imagery of the Bible was Elijah’s chariot of fire coming to take him home to God. Speculation excesses are referred too as mania and revulsion from these excesses take the form of crisis, crashes, or panic which are historically common. The excess speculation builds as investor seize new opportunities for profits and are overdone. Hyman Minsky describes these new opportunities as the result of displacement. Displacement are events leading up to a crisis, such as, outbreak or end of war, bumper harvest or crop failure, widespread adoption of an invention, or some political event. Displacement must be a significant size. Displacement brings opportunities for profit and increased demand causes price to rise. Banks artificially increase supply without proportional increases in demand by expanding the money supply that demand would have generated. The money supply expansion is notoriously unstable. Feedback fuels Euphoria for price increase; the Euphoria turns investment from really valuable products to delusional ones. Boom is characterized as rising interest rates, as Banks threaten discredit and hedge against the speculation by raising rates; trading velocity increases and the velocity of circulation and turnover ratios rise; and stock prices increases. Boom is fed by expansion caused by bank credit; credit increases the money supply and destabilizes the investment.…

Myths and legends surrounding an ancient Saturn are embedded in archaeology artifacts and historical documents. Saturn was personified and named Kronos by the Greeks; Shamash Enki-Ea and Tammuz by the Babylonians; Re (or Ra), Ptah, Temu, Atum or Osiris by the Egyptians; Moloch by the Phoenicians; Brahma and Satyavrata by the Hindus, Quetzalcoatl, Tlaloc, Ce-acatl, and Huracan by the Mayas, and El or Eloah by the Hebrews. Saturn has a Latin name “Stella Solis” meaning “Sun Star.” Earth was an actual satellite of Saturn (“The Saturn Myth” by David N. Talbot). Talbot proposed, “Saturn – fixed at the celestial pole – loomed massively overhead, a central sun venerated by all mankind,” “A polar sun,” “Primeval sun,” “Terrifying splendor,” “A visual pivoting of the heavens,” and it provided a symbol of “Order to the heavens.” The earth would have shared the same axis of rotation with Saturn at a fixed position directly above the earth, and so Saturn would appear to neither rise nor set. “Saturn’s immobility is indicated when Ra is lauded as the God who is resting on his high place.” In Hebrew, Saturn takes the name Kokab Sabet, which means resting star or planet. The planet loomed as an “awesome and terrifying light.”…

Joseph smith saw the coming of the American Civil War and the issue of slavery bringing bloodshed to our nation. There has never been a time in history where the cost of freedom did not have a cost in blood. The Lamanites and the gentiles are to be free—the curse of slavery being lifted by the results of the Civil War. The Civil War started as a tax revolt and ended over the issue of slavery. Slavery was against the order of heaven. The restoration of the Lord’s church occurred on April 6, 1830. 30 years later, the Civil War erupted. The union came under a constitutional crisis. During the time, the Lamanites watched as states fought each other, as father fought son, as brother fought brother. The land of inheritance was turned into a battleground. Peace among families was disturbed. Carnage and destruction were common in once beautiful cities in the south. Eventually, the Civil War ended, and General Lee surrendered.…

Tampa Bay Desalination Plant 1. The Tampa Florida seawater desalination facility produces 25 million gallons of water per day. 2. The plant has 15 miles of pipes to transport the water providing water for 1.8 million people 3. The reverse osmosis (RO) system has seven independent trains, each comprising a transfer pump, cartridge filters, reverse osmosis membranes, associated high-pressure pump and an energy recovery turbine (ERT). 4. An 800hp vertical turbine transfer pump in each train draws raw water from the pre-treatment wet well to the 5µm cartridge filter assembly. The water then enters the RO process itself. 5. Each battery of reverse osmosis membranes is fed with pressurized water by a 2,250hp, horizontal split case high-pressure pump, equipped with variable frequency drives which allow the feed pressure to be varied between 625psi and 1,050psi. These were fitted to the pumps to accommodate the variation in salinity of the water, which naturally ranges between 18 and 32 parts per thousand (ppt) in Tampa Bay, compared with the narrower 28-35ppt of typical seawater. 6. Each of the plant's seven RO batteries has a minimum rated production of 16,000m³/day and consists of 168 pressure vessels, containing eight SWRO membranes apiece. Carlsbad Desalination Project Fact: 1. I.W technologies is converting sea water to fresh water in Carlsbad. The $1 million demonstration project will produce 35,000 gallons of water a day. The larger plant is existed to provide San Diego with 50 million gallons of water a day. 2. The plant will cost $230 million and produce enough fresh water to meet the annual needs of 400,000 people. The San Diego county water authority will spent $42 million for pipeline and pumping stations. 3. Every year, 10 percent of the total 600,000 square feet of reverse osmosis membranes will be changed out. 4. The cost will be $909 per acre foot of water. Potential exists for a $250 per acre-foot subsidy from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California 5. 100 million gallons of seawater would be pumped into the plant every day (Reference Link) Los Angels Desalination projects Fact: 1. The Los Angels Department of Water and Power is the largest municipal utility in the US serving four million residents. 2. The fact that most of the world's energy resources are controlled by countries with command economies is a result of two factors First, command economies use almost all of their resources, so they have little to spare for export Second, they prefer to use the resources they have to support their own people, not to support people in other countries This is just another demonstration of the old saying, "The best way to help the poor is to help yourself " However, this situation is not a permanent one When the command economies are no longer able to control their people, they will no longer be able to control their resources That is when their resources will become available to other countries which have a higher standard of living than the command economies It is also possible that the command economies will use their resources for their own benefit WHY DO THE SOVIET UNION AND CHINA CONTROL SO MUCH OIL? The fact that the Soviet Union and China control so much of the world's oil is a result of the same factor which makes it possible for them to control the world's other resources The Soviet Union and China have large populations They need a lot of energy resources to support their people They also have a very low standard of living This makes it possible for them to get their resources at prices which are very low compared to the cost of producing them in other countries " HOW DOES THE WORLD'S ENERGY PROBLEMS RELATE TO THE WORLD'S MANPOWER PROBLEMS? The world's energy problems is one of the reasons why we have a world's manpower problems The world's population has doubled in the last 40 years It is expected to double again in the next 40 years As a result, the world's standard of living is falling The amount of energy required per person has been increasing steadily The current world's population uses the energy equivalent of one steam locomotive per person In the next 40 years, when the world's population is expected to double, the number of people in the world will use the energy equivalent of two steam locomotives per person It is very unlikely that we will find the energy resources to support that many people at that standard of living…

Stock prices are based on the beliefs of the market and, in turn, affect the beliefs of the market If the market believes that a stock is overpriced, then the price will decline until such beliefs are no longer expressed Such beliefs are based on the fundamentals and the perceptions of investors The fundamentals are the facts about a business and its prospects that are publicly available The perceptions are the opinions of investors about the facts, about the current economic environment and about what will happen next This perception is often influenced by the price of the security For example, if the price of a stock is rising, then more investors will tend to believe that the fundamentals are good This will cause the price to continue to rise The Markets Beliefs The markets belief about a security may be based on the fundamentals or on the perceptions of the investors The following two examples illustrate how these beliefs affect stock prices Example 1: Demand for a Product Increases Suppose that one of your companies has invented a new product that is a substitute for an existing product The new product is superior in every way to the existing product and will capture most of the market Now you must decide what to do with the existing product You could discontinue it, but the market for it is still quite large, and there is no reason to believe that it will be declining soon Instead, you decide to sell the product at a lower price than the new product, even though it is identical to the new product You will continue to sell the existing product until you have captured most of the market, after which you will discontinue it The new product will have the following effects on the market: (1) it will cause the demand for the existing product to fall sharply, (2) the price of the existing product will decline sharply and (3) the demand for the new product will rise sharply The demand for the new product will rise sharply because it is superior to the existing product The price of the new product will also rise because of the demand for it…

What you earn in retirement is generally based on what you earn while you work If you earn more, you get more in retirement If you earn less, you get less So if you earn more, it follows that you have more in retirement The reality is more complex though This is because life expectancy and inflation both grow over time This means that pensions will be less generous than expected It also means that the cost of pensions to the state or taxpayers will grow The reason for this is simple The reason for this is simple Life expectancy has grown faster than the pension system has increased benefits When the state pension was introduced in the 1940s, the average life expectancy was 65 for men and 71 for women This meant that the population was relatively young and the state pension was designed to be paid for from current tax receipts Today, life expectancy has grown to 79 for men and 83 for women This means that the pension system will have to pay out more than it did when the original assumptions were made This means higher costs and lower benefits So it follows that the cost of the state pension will grow faster than the rate of economic growth Government finances are thus likely to struggle to keep up The failure of the pensions system to deliver on their promises will be stark States owed a total of $1.25 trillion in unfunded pension benefits in fiscal 2019, the final year before the pandemic. People are living longer and drawing on their pension for greater lengths of time. Pew projections in September 2021 indicated that pension debt had decreased below $1 trillion by the end of fiscal 2021, and state pension plans reached the highest-funded level since the Great Recession. Unfunded pension liabilities as a share of 50-state personal income increased sharply during the Great Recession and kept growing until it peaked at 8.4% in fiscal 2016. That’s because many states deferred contributions to pension systems during the downturn and then made insufficient payments to keep unfunded liabilities from rising. Growth was also partially driven by lower-than-expected investment returns, and in some cases, expanded but unfinanced benefits. In fiscal 2014, changes to accounting rules led many states to make more conservative projections about future investment returns, further increasing reported 50-state pension debt. https://www.pewtrusts.org/en/research-and-analysis/articles/2022/07/07/states-unfunded-pension-liabilities-persist-as-major-long-term-challenge But this is not the only reason why pensions will fail The biggest pensions challenge comes from the fact that private sector pensions are becoming increasingly underfunded According to the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) which represents the private sector, pension funds are currently underfunded The reason for the underfunding is simple The amount that can be saved is falling This is because the amount that can be saved is falling This is because people are having to work for longer, there are more people in work and companies are taking on fewer people This is the reason why many private sector pensions are underfunded…

The issuer of a security must ensure that its securities are owned by qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), which are defined as institutions that have $100 million or more in assets under management Furthermore, the issuer must ensure that at least half of the securities are held by QIBs https://www.investopedia.com/terms/q/qib.asp While a pension fund and insurance companies are not QIBs, they are not prohibited from owning the bonds However, if the issuer does not have at least 50% of its bonds owned by QIBs, it risks the downgrade of the bonds by the rating agency When pension funds buy bonds to rebalance their portfolio yields drop and likewise when they sell bonds yields climb. Falling yields bring in investors buying growth stock chasing profits. Pension funds hold about 125 billion dollars of bonds. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/03/23/pension-funds-have-to-buy-bonds-to-rebalance-portfolios-and-that-might-be-good-for-stocks.html WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PENSION FUNDS AND INSURANCE COMPANIES OWNING BONDS? Pension funds and insurance companies are motivated to take on the risk inherent in bond investments because their clients financial needs are best served by investments that are a stable, reliable, and predictable source of income By investing in bonds, pension funds and insurance companies are able to provide their clients with a predictable stream of income In addition, pension funds and insurance companies are more able to stomach the risk of bond investments because they typically have a long-term investment horizon, which allows them to weather short-term fluctuations in the value of their investment in bonds Furthermore, because they are non-profit entities, they are not driven to maximize their profits Pension funds and insurance companies are better positioned than individual investors to purchase bonds that are rated below investment grade This is because these investors are able to purchase these bonds through the pooled investment funds that they manage These pooled investments funds can purchase bonds with ratings that are one or two levels below investment grade because such bonds are typically available at a steep discount Individual investors generally do not have access to such discounted bonds because they lack the access to the pooled investment funds that pension funds and insurance companies have WHAT ARE THE DRAWBACKS OF PENSION FUNDS AND INSURANCE COMPANIES OWNING BONDS? Pension funds and insurance companies have to maintain a certain level of liquidity in order to pay their beneficiaries As a result, they typically invest in bonds that mature either in 40 or more years or in fewer than 10 years Real estate investments are typically illiquid They are often held for a long period of time and are seldom sold This lack of liquidity may make it difficult for pension funds and insurance companies…

This question is very subtle Capitalism is often vilified for being a zero sum game The idea is that if someone succeeds, someone else must necessarily fail This is a gross oversimplification of the way markets actually work Ironically, it is precisely because of capitalism that we have such a powerful engine of innovation in the first place The reason why so many of us have so many innovations to choose from is because capitalism is a market system that empowers entrepreneurs The marketplaces of ideas is constantly evolving and improving Societies that embrace capitalism will have the most powerful engine of human ingenuity, while those that reject capitalism will be left behind It is true that many innovations are the result of collaboration and thus have multiple innovators The most successful innovations were the result of many minds working on the problem together Sometimes, it is a matter of pure luck But we should not dismiss the role of pure innovation and entrepreneurship in the process Capitalism is the most empowering system for human ingenuity MARKETS AND CAPITALISM: WHAT ARE THEY? We’ve been using the words markets and capitalism interchangeably However, there is a subtle difference between the two Markets are everywhere Even in the most oppressive societies, there are marketplaces, with their own market forces But capitalism is a very specific type of market system The most important feature of capitalism is that it is a free market system Or, in other words, it is a system in which individuals have the freedom to act and to trade with other individuals In a free market system, property rights are protected, and the government does not interfere arbitrarily In other words, the government tax people and they do make rules In a free market system, people are free to choose what they want to produce There are no restrictions In a free market system, people are free to help each other by trading In a free market system, people are free to invent new products and services…

At $28 trillion dollars, The US government does not collect enough in taxes to directly pay for its spending with cash on hand, so it must take on debt and sell bonds. Typical buyers of bonds are institutional investors (like pension funds), foreign countries (often sovereign wealth funds or financial institutions serving foreign nationals), and individuals (usually through mutual funds and 401(k) accounts). If the government defaults or comes close to defaulting, credit rating agencies would likely downgrade the rating of Treasury bonds. In 2011, the mere threat of default prompted the credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s to downgrade the United States from its AAA rating to AA+ for the first time in 70 years. Default would mean the cost of borrowing for the US government would increase, perhaps dramatically. And when its more expensive for the government to borrow, it will be more expensive for individuals to borrow. For every 1% decrease in GDP growth, there is roughly an 0.5% increase in the unemployment rate, according to an economic concept known as Okun’s Law. A recent report from Moody’s has an even more calamitous prediction, forecasting that just a short-term debt default could lead to a 27% drop in the stock market China has $1.05 trillion and Japan has $1.30 trillion of US Treasury securities in reserves https://www.thirdway.org/report/the-dominoes-of-default-in-2021…

(Reference Link) August 12, 2009: BLP press release through Hill & Knowlton claims that researchers at Rowan University reproduced BlackLight process, using their own materials. Results were claimed to show 1.2 times to 6.5 times the energy released than can be attributed by known chemical reactions Dr Rand Mill says, "The BlackLight Process generates more than 200 times the energy of burning hydrogen that can be harnessed to replace the thermal power in coal, oil, gas and nuclear power plants. These experimental results prove that the new power source discovered in our labs has the possibility to make a profound impact in our current energy-strapped economy" Quote BlackLight intends to rely on existing technologies to convert thermal power to electric power. As BlackLight devices generate surface heat at grades comparable to existing commercial fire boxes in natural gas and coal-fired plants, existing heat-to-electric technologies such as gas turbine, micro-turbine and Sterling engines can be melded with BlackLight power cells to generate electricity, as well as space and process heat. end Quote BlackLight Power Fact: 1. This is where it gets interesting If you own a bond, you are lending money to a company or a government While the company or government pays you a fixed interest rate in exchange for your loan, the interest rate on bonds is fixed and the bond holder receives the interest payments at specific times If the interest rate on bonds rises, the price of the bonds must adjust to compensate for the higher interest rates, resulting in a lower price for the bond The reason for this is that if you bought a bond at a lower price, the next payment will be worth more in dollar terms The opposite is true when the interest rate on bonds falls If the interest rate on bonds falls, the bond price must increase to compensate for the lower interest rate, resulting in a higher price for the bond This is a very simple example of how interest rates affect the price of bonds and how interest rates affect the price of bonds affects the price of stocks The same is true when it comes to the stock market If the interest rate on bonds rises, the price of stocks must adjust to compensate for higher interest rates, resulting in a lower price for the stock The opposite is true when interest rates fall This is why the Federal Reserve and the behavior of the bond market plays such a large role in determining the overall health of the stock market…

How the Crossfire Fusion reactor uses helium 3 Fact: 1. The ingredients for fusion are deuterium, tritium, and isotopes of Helium 2. Electrons are shared between atoms 3. Deutrium + He3 -> proton(14.7 MeV) + He4 (3.7 MeV) + 18.4 MeV (Mass converted to energy) 4. A Deuterium + He3 reactor is optimal at 100 KeV. Crossfire fusion reactor: Electrons go to the ground and positive ions are accelerated in an electrostatic way against a negative potential. Meaning little power is required to reach a great kinetic energy (600 KeV for Boron hydrid). The Crossfire reactor uses a superconductor magnet 4.5 tesla to focus confinement; a superconducting magnet for exhausting plasma, a dielectric mirror for reflecting electromagnetic waves back to plasma. Plasma positive ion will attract electrons from neutralizers. The system will receive energy from plasma allowing the flux of electrons from ground to positive potential. The system will transfer energy to plasma pulling electrons from ground to negative potential. (Reference Link) 5. 1 million metric tonnes of He3, reacted with deuterium, would generate about 20,000 terrawatt-years of thermal energy (Reference Link) 6. About 25 tonnes of He3 would power the United States for 1 year at our current rate of energy consumption 7. Mark Suppes builds a small fusion reactor that uses deuterium gas as a fuel. 1. Harold Vinegar is the oil industry leading expert on complex petroscience of transforming solid oil shale into synthetic crude. 2. Shell is convinced that shale oil is not myth. Shell says Vinegar technology will produce large quantities of high quality oil without ravaging the local environment and be profitable around $30 a barrel. 3. The Department of Energy believes that the Green River formation could produce 2 million barrels of oil a day by 2020 and three million by 2040. There is enough shale oil to maintain oil production for hundreds of years. 4. Vinegar process is called “In Situ Conversion Process” (In place) and it works like this: a. shell drills 1,800 foot wells and then inserts heating rods that raise the temperature of the oil shale to 650 degrees Fahrenheit. B) freeze walls are created by coolant piped deep into the ground preventing the oil from escaping. C) the heat transforms the kerogen into oil and natural gas. D) the natural gas is separated and oil is piped to a refinery to be converted into gasoline and other products. 5. The rapid growth in worldwide oil demand necessitates the development of unconventional oils. 6. Vinegar discovered that slower and lower temperature process – 650 degrees Fahrenheit verses 1000 degrees allows more hydrogen molecules to be liberated from kerogen being heated to react with the carbon compounds, the result is better oil, hallmarks of light crude. In 2005, Shell yielded 1,700 barrels of light oil and inserting heating rods in several hundred feet wells. Shell believes the Green River Formation could yield more than one million barrels of oil per acre. 7. Shell plans to build a refinery onsite, the first in 30 years. Some of the water utilized will be salinated water pumped from deep acquifers 8. Energetics new cold fusion, superwave technology, and history Fact: 1. In 2005 water left at room temperature two days earlier had boiled for more than five hours 2. Energetics Technologies saw evidence that 25 times more electric energy was being released than had been put in. Low energy nuclear reaction began to look promising. 3. Naval Research laboratories loaded microscopic nano-particles of palladium with deuterium and in thousands of experiments measured excess heat every time. 4. In 2001, Shaul Lesin and University of California-Berkeley nuclear engineer Ehud Greenspan tested low-energy nuclear reactions in electrolytic cells with varied results. 5. The Energetics used a modulated electric current (superwave) developed by Irving Dardik, who believe that by layering waves of electric current within each other, he could load deuterium into palladium at a great level. “Waves waving within waves” drives the LENR. Superwaves are defined as a low frequency carrying wave with several successive stages of amplitude and frequency modulation. Pulse energy seems to help load more deuterium into the palladium foil. As the palladium becomes saturated with deuterium, the deuterium moves back and forth in the lattice in unison. The more deuterium that is loaded into the palladium the higher the chances of excess heat. 6. In January 2010, Energetics shipped two 16,000 kilogram containers from Israel to Columbia. Seven Israeli researchers moved to Columbia. The incubator will benefit from top flight staff and facilities for testing. 7. Before the technology can be taken to market, consistent out must be achieved. “Sometimes it a little, and sometimes it’s a lot. So clearly we don’t understand the process, and this company and this laboratory is established to achieve reliable results”, says Jake Halliday, CEO of MU Life Science Business Incubator. (Reference Link) 8. Four experimental approaches are being pursued: electrolysis (EC), glow-discharge (GD), gas loading in catalyst cells(CC), and high-pressure high-temperature cell (HPTC) with ultrasonic wave excitation. Run #64b gave 1500% excess heat over a duration of 80 hours with a total excess energy of 4.6 megajoules. The most successful run was obtained in electrolytic cells. The current flowing through an electrolytic cells, or through a glow discharge chamber, was a superwave, a mixture of several low frequency components.(Reference Link) The Superwave fusion could produce enormous amounts of energy. A voltage is applied to two electrodes immersed in an electrolytic solution of Heavy water (deuterium) and Lithium salts and this establishes a current along a strip of palladium acting as a cathode. The coils act as the anode. The deuterium is disassociated to D+ and D- and O2 escapes to the surfaces. The D+ attach to the palladium strip. The D+ make their way into the palladium lattice. The superwave voltage regulation enhances the D+ loading into the palladium lattice. D+ makes itself deeper into the palladium lattice until it reaches saturation. The D+ fuse into Helium4 and a significant amount of energy, 24 MeV.…

The pB11 reaction is a potential way to achieve fusion without radioactive waste. The approach involves using a charged particle to compress boron into a plasmoid, which then undergoes fusion. The benefits of this approach include the fact that boron is abundant and there is no radioactive waste. 1. Hydrogen Boron pB11 = p+B11->3He4 + 8.9 MeV 2. Moving charged particle is electricity, no radioactive waste 3. High power transforms take the charged particles into electricity 4. Boron is adequate and abundant 5. Temperatures must reach 1 billion degrees and x-ray emission occurs 6. Three approaches to fusion: Dense plasma focus (DPF), Field reverse collision collider beam (FRC CB), inertial electrostatic confinement (IEC) 7. A current flows from the cathode and anode producing counter rotating filaments. The filaments focus into the focus region. The filaments compress into a plasmoid. When the plasmodia get dense enough, radiation accretes out of each end, the electromagnet field drops, and fusion occurs.…

1 Tata- why nationalism and industrialism can not solve hunger or clean water problems of poverty 12:28
Tata thinks he can help India grow through industrialism, nationalism, and big business. Does big business help increase wealth and quality of life for the poor? Tata knows that he does not have the infrastructure to solve the basic problems of the poor, such as, food and water. Why not? Tata primary goal is too create great profits for his shareholders. He sounds like a Western CEO. The rich get richer, but do the poor get a better quality of life? If Tata will not attempt to help solve hungar and thirst in India and provide cheap financing for small businesses, who will? Who will help the small people? Empathy is different from direct impact. Microloans and financing could provide a surge of innovation and solutions for the poor. The poor people must start to self educate and solve their own problems. Looking to large nationalized corporations to solve problems will be a betrayal. Profits may force the big business away from vital services need by the poor. The poor must find innovate ways to increase food production and provide clean water and reduce costs in design. Nationalism will not solve their problems, as Tata has admitted. The division between large corporation and rural communities will continue to expand. Small businesses in India are more likely to provide the vital services the poor need. "California has some very fond memories and one of them was the highly technical environment that existed in southern California," says Mr. Tata. Tata likes to be surround by engineers and technical people. (Reference Link)…

The principle of hierarchy is essential for solving problems in the real world We are presented with a vast amount of information, and much of it is irrelevant or too complex to develop in detail It is not always practical to review all the information, to make all the calculations, to check all the possibilities, to pursue all the options When we deal with a large number of possibilities, we must arrange them in some sort of hierarchical classification When we try to solve a problem, we must identify the relevant information, select the most important possibilities, and isolate the crucial choices If we deal with a complex system, we must understand the principles operating at higher levels and the principles of organization at lower levels When we see a large number of possibilities, we can often simplify them by arranging them in an orderly list; we can classify them according to general categories When we see a large number of objects, we can often simplify them by arranging them in a hierarchy according to their similarities and differences The same principle applies to large numbers of options or possibilities, which can be reduced to a few basic alternatives or a few basic principles Usually, we do not need to be familiar with all the details of lower levels or with all the branches of a large hierarchy We do not need to know all the steps in a large process, or all the pieces in a complex system If we want to give a presentation, we do not need a detailed knowledge of the subject If we want to understand the principles of a large system, we do not need a detailed knowledge of all its components If we want to solve a problem, we do not need all the information in its totality We do not need to be able to work through all the steps of a process in order to understand the principles of a process We do not need to know how all the parts function in order to understand how a system operates We do not need to know all the details of a large hierarchy in order to understand and use that hierarchy We do not need to have a detailed knowledge of all the data or all the steps or all the options in order to use and manage the data or to solve the problem We do not need to know everything about a large system in order to understand or work with that system We do not need to know all the details about everything We do not need all the knowledge We just need to know the knowledge that is relevant and important…

14. Deflation occurs when supply exceeds demand. World War I, when the began and 1917 when the U.S entered the war, U.S gold reserves rose 64%, as Europe exchanged its gold for U.S goods. Once the war end, gold continue to flow into the U.S as allies repaid their war debt. The credit base double during this time period, industrial machinery and equipment output rose by 205% and all producer durables increased by 257%. This surge in industrial capacity created an oversupply by 1926 and as a result the wholesale price declined. In 1921 the fed sold large amounts of government debt and caused credit to contract by 8% through the economy into a brief recession. When the dollar earnings of the surplus nations are deposited into their domestic banking systems, those dollars, being exogenous to those banking system, act as high powered money and spark off an explosion of credit creation. Excessive credit creation permits over-investment, which, in turn, causes excess capacity and deflation. So long as the huge US current account deficits continue to flood the world with dollars, global deflationary pressures are very likely to continue to build, as reckless credit creation results in more industrial capacity than can be absorbed at the prevailing price level. 15. Falling product prices make it impossible for businesses to repay their bank loans. A similar process occurs when excessive credit creation causes asset price bubbles in the stock market and the property market. Rapid loan growth causes asset prices to rise. Frequently banks accept the inflated assets as collateral for additional loans. This process continued for so long in Japan that the imperial gardens in Tokyo came to be considered as valuable as California. Eventually, it becomes impossible to pay the interest expense on such extraordinarily overvalued assets. The owners default, the banks then refuse to make new loans, the house of cards in asset prices begins to shake, panic sets in, the bubble pops and banks fail. 16. During 1999 and 2000, the final two years of the New Paradigm Bubble, imports into the United States jumped by $307 billion, an increase of 33% over the level of 1998. Then in 2001, US imports fell by $79 billion, or by 6.3%. The impact of that decline in US demand on the rest of the world was extraordinary. 17. That year, the economic growth rates of all the United States’ major trading partners decelerated abruptly. Stock markets experienced a spiral downward affect, commodity prices fell, and government finances came under strain all around the world. The same consequences can be expected during the second phase of the recession, when the US consumer is finally forced to stop spending more than he earns. At that time, imports into the US will decline and all those countries that rely on exporting to the United States will suffer. China will be one of the hardest hit since it a leading supplier of cheap consumer goods to the US. When China’s exports to the US decline it will not have the cash to act as an engine of growth for the rest of Asia. Asia should not harbor false hopes of China replacing the Unites States as importer of last resort. Instead, Asian policy makers should recognize that the era of export led growth will end once the US current account deficits can no longer be financed and they should act now to develop sufficient domestic demand.…

1. Gold Trade created equilibrium in the trade deficit. Here's how it worked. Gold leaves the country to pay for the commodity. Since gold leaves credit would have to contract. The economy would recede. Price would become cheaper and gold would enter back into the country as exports of cheap products were purchased by foreign countries with gold payments. The inflow and outflow gold would seek equilibrium. A country experiencing a trade imbalance would accumulate more gold, the surplus would be credit, expanding credit would fuel an economic boom, provoke inflating prices, and inflated prices would slow down exports and import rise. 2. Gold reserves prevented budget deficits. With only a limited amount of credit available to the government, borrowing would drive up interest rates making it more difficult for business to borrow money. The government would crowd out the private sector with its borrowing. Government deficits also tend to result in trade deficits and gold outflows. Initially the government spending would stimulate the economy and import increase inline with the growth of the economy; however, as gold left the country recession pressures would return, gold would leave the country, interest rates rise, and price fall. Recognizing the undesirable effect deficit spending would have on the economy the government would attempt to maintain balanced budget as long as the country was at peace.…

Trade deficit The reason for the trade deficit can be boiled down to the United States as a whole spending more money than it makes, which results in a current account deficit. That additional spending must, by definition, go toward foreign goods and services. Financing that spending happens in the form of either borrowing from foreign lenders (which adds to the U.S. national debt) or foreign investing in U.S. assets and businesses—the capital account. The deficit has averaged $535 billion since 2000, much higher than in previous decades, when it accounted for well below 2 percent of GDP. The United States ran a $419 billion goods deficit with China in 2018. The next largest contributor to the goods deficit, at $151 billion, is the European Union, followed by Mexico at $81.5 billion, Japan at $67.6 billion, and Malaysia at $26.5 billion. Beijing undertook deep economic reforms and implemented policies to subsidize production, accelerate industrialization, and boost exports. In the process China earned the moniker “the world’s factory.” Economists also note the acceleration of Chinese export growth after the country’s entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001. https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/us-trade-deficit-how-much-does-it-matter China is buying US treasuries they pay for it by loaning money to US consumers to buy their products and then the US consumer pays for it with interest to the Chinese they are buying US treasuries they pay for it by loaning money to US consumers to buy their products and then the US consumer pays for it with interest to the Chinese The trade deficit is a problem It's a one-sided problem If the trade deficit was one sided in both directions, then the balance would be zero A trade deficit is not at all the same thing as a capital account surplus the trade deficit is a zero sum game trade deficit means when the US sells stuff to China they are only getting half of the deal China gets paid they get the stuff then they lend the money to the US to buy the stuff China has already sold they don't spend that money on buying US goods and services they are a net seller of US goods and services the only time China buys US goods and services is when the US is a net seller of US goods and services it is a one sided problem and the trade deficit is a zero sum game trade deficit means when the US sells stuff to China they are only getting half of the deal china gets paid they get the stuff then they lend the money to the US to buy the stuff China has already sold they don't spend that money on buying US goods and services they are a net seller of US goods and servicesthe only time China buys US goods and services is when the US is a net seller of US goods and services China sells more to the US than they buy from the US But the US, along with Germany and Japan, all purchase more than they sell to China, so they have a surplus in their trade with China…

The saints will have departed from association with Babylon lest they become like them. The saints’ departure from Babylon prevents them from experiencing the plagues reserved for the harlot. Repentance provides the way to not to pay the penalty of the broken laws of God. The harlot teaches men she is doing what the Lord told her to do: to eat, drink and be merry. Japanese pension funds are scooping up a growing number of U S Treasury bonds, pushing them to the top of the list of foreign holders of U government debt foreign countries held a total of 7.55 trillion U.S. dollars in U.S. treasury securities as of September 2021. Japan held 1.3 trillion U.S. dollars. In 2021, the United States had a total public national debt of 28.43 trillion U.S. dollars https://www.statista.com/statistics/246420/major-foreign-holders-of-us-treasury-debt/ With the worlds largest public debts and a shrinking population, Japans pension funds have looked overseas for yield in recent years, and have been particularly attracted to U bonds, which pay higher returns than similarly rated debt While a small portion of the total, the purchases are a boon to the U Treasury, which has been looking to raise cash to finance record budget deficits, and analysts said they could also help the Federal Reserve as it tries to unwind its bond portfolio The Japanese have been buying U Treasuries for years and years, but it seems to be accelerating,a long-term trend that is going to continue Japanese investors have been particularly attracted to the high yields on U Treasury bonds, which are more attractive than similar-rated debt U Treasuries with a rating of Aaa yield around 4.5 percent, while Japanese bonds with a lower yield That is a big difference, considering the Japanese governments debt-to-GDP ratio is the highest in the world at over 200 percent, while the United States has a relatively low debt-to-GDP ratio of around 80 percent The Japanese government has also been buying U debt to help finance its own spending, as its domestic bond market has shrunk…

The purchase of stock is expensive It is more expensive than the purchase of bonds The dividend that is paid from the firm to the shareholder is much less expensive than the purchase of stock Thus, if the firm cuts its dividend it will not be able to sell as many shares of its stock as it otherwise would have sold The firm may not be able to raise enough money to finance its investment plans In general, the firm will want to pay out a dividend that is large enough that the stock price is above its normal (equilibrium) price The firm will want to avoid a dividend cut For example, if the firm's stock is selling at $100 per share, the firm will want to pay a dividend of $2 50 or 3 percent This is just enough to keep the stock price above $100 If the dividend is cut to, say, $1 50, the stock price will drop, perhaps to $90 The firm will experience a stock turnover, and thus a loss of potential revenue from the sale of the stock The dividend cut will have hurt the firm The dividend payout ratio is one of the most important numbers in determining the value of the firm It has major implications for the price of the stock WHAT IS THE DIVIDEND PAYOUT RATIO AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? The dividend payout ratio is the ratio of the dividend to the earnings of the firm It is usually expressed as a percentage For example, if the firm's earnings are $100 and it is paying out a dividend of $2, then the dividend payout ratio is 2 percent The dividend payout ratio is important because it is a measure of the amount of earnings that will be paid to the shareholders The higher the payout ratio, the higher the dividend If a firm is paying out a high percentage of its earnings as dividends, then other investors will want to buy the firm's stock because they will know that they are receiving a high dividend…

The best explanation for the existence of Venus is a comet collision with mars The debris from the collision would have been ejected from the system in the direction of the Sun and then would have followed a highly eccentric orbit around the Sun in the same manner as a short-period comets Some of the mars debris would have rained down on earth. The highly eccentric orbit would have allowed the debris to be captured by the gravitational field of the Earth The result of the collision would be a mass of molten rock orbiting the Sun and the formation of the Moon would be the ejection of the molten rock from the collision what if the comet collision formed the Moon and Venus Leaving mars without an atmosphere and with less mass. The moon may not been the result of a mars sized object colliding with earth. HOW DID THE PLANET MARS BECOME SO LITTLE AND SO DRY? The early planet Mars was much larger than the planet Mars is today The planet Mars had a large atmosphere and water on the surface At some point after the formation of the planet Mars it was struck by a comet The collision caused the planet Mars to be greatly eroded and the planet Mars to lose most of its atmosphere The collision also caused the planet Mars to move from the asteroid belt to its current orbit The planet Mars had a large atmosphere and water Mars has no proven evidence of life. However, discovery of water is non controversial 1.Mars would be the most likely planet to inhabitant in the future. Mars may hold the keys to our future and our past 2. Mars terrain is very similar to the Southern California Mojave Desert. 3. Mars is filled with iron oxidized dust 4. Mar's volcano Olympus Mound rises 15 miles above its surface. 5. The delta 2 rocket transported the spirit to mars. Mars is cold dry and desolate and temperatures drop to a 100 degrees below zero at night. 6. Mars is half the size of earth and is 34 million miles from us. 7. Mars may have been warm enough for water to flow across its surface. Mars has had water in its past 8. As the Mars iron core cooled it could no longer maintain the magnetic field and the solar storms stripped the atmosphere. 9. Tons of ice might be locked below the Mars polar caps. The cap is frozen carbon dioxide. 10. Impacts of asteroids suggest that the impact profile is hitting permafrost. 11. In 1964, Mariner 4, set back pictures of Mars, with only one pass. What it saw was crater like on the moon. The Mariner reveal a dry desert on Mars. Mariner 9, orbited the planet for weeks and make a complete mapping. It discovered the thesaurus bulge. Mariner valley is a rupture in the landscape the width of the US. 12. In 1976, the voyager put a robot to collect soil samples and test for life, no definitive evidence of biology. 13. Discovered in the Antarctica, the ALH84001 was determined to be a rock from Mars. Under an electron microscope, scientist see carbonates. Was the structure a worm or part of a bacteria? Was it biological? Probably not. NASA claims ALH84001 was early evidence of life on Mars. No consensus was established. The major of people though the structures were mineral activity. Could microbial life exist on the polar poles of Mars? No evidence 14. In 2003, The Delta 2 rocket delivered equipment to Mars. The robotic rovers spirit and opportunity are exploring mars. Neither robots have discovered signs of life, but they did find evidence of water. 15. Phoenix will excavate the polar soil. Mars may have internal heat causing water flows.…

What is the 20-year horizon? Mauldin observed that every period of 9.6 percent market returns started with low P/E ratios. Looking at the market trend, half of the investors realized compound returns less than 4 percent and 10 percent generated gains more than 10 percent. Subtracting inflation, taxes, and dividends the historical growth in earnings has been 2 percent. Only new companies have been able to produce 3 percent. Pensions need 7 percent in real growth. Is it possible some pensions are 1/7 their value? It is impossible to get a 9 percent growth assumption in a 5 percent bond market. Companies often make a 70/30 balance of stock to bonds. Venus passed by the earth in close proximity to its Lithosphere causing catastrophic change on the earth: volcanoes, earthquakes, violent storms and hurricanes. Venus impact on Mars caused debris to float in spacing and asteroids rained down on the earth for nearly two decades. The book, “Earth, Moon, and Planets” Dr. Whipple predicted and postulated worlds in collision 1,500 and 4,700 years ago when a comet collided with and disrupted the planetoids that revolve by the thousands between Mars and Jupiter. Dr. Whipple studies the comet Encke and its last encounter 1,500 years ago. The first visit to the earth by the comet was in 1500 BC at the time of Mose and caused the dividing of the Red Sea. The result of the earth pass through the tail of the comet was intense heat, enormous tides, incessant violent electrical disruption between the comet and the planet. The second visit by the comet was 52 years later and coincided with Joshua’s attempt to make the sun and the moon stand still. Professor Hans Pettersson of the Oceanographic Institute at Goteborg found “evidences of great catastrophes that altered the face of the earth”, “climate catastrophes”, “volcanic catastrophes”, and “tectonic catastrophes that raised or lowered the ocean bottom hundreds and event thousands of feet” spreading huge tidal waves that destroy coastal life. Petterson discovered that the Pacific and Indian ocean-beds consisted of “largely of volcano ash” that settle after an eruption. Patterson also found evidence of a heavy shower of meteors, several hundred times greater than astronomers admit. The Comet collided with Mars in 747 BC and lost its tail and became transformed into Venus. The Venus orbit became near circular. Mars orbit was affected and in 687 BC it nearly collided with Earth. At certain epoch in the past the position of Mars and Venus were identical. Olympus mon was formed as electrons streamed to the top of the mound. The surface was raised by electrical force. The summit became a focal point of negative charged area in a region surround by positive charged surface. A second discharge formed a ring around the cauldron., a Hale-Bopp discharge Mars temperature ranges from minus 23 Celsius to minus 137 Celsius. Mars has no electromagnetic shield. For Mars to have life, it must have water. Olympus Mons is 27 kilometeres above datum and the floor of the canyon system is known as Valles Marineris. Olympus Mons has 700 km lava scab, 80 km summit caldera, and a outer edge of the lava scab of 5,000 km in diameter. Valles Marineries chasm is 7 km deep and 200 km wide, four times deeper and six times wider and ten times longer than the Grand Canyon. The Valles Marineries run across the floor of the Chryse Planitia basin. Argyne, Hellas, and Isidis meteorites transformed Mars. Argyre crater is 3 km deep and 630 km wide impacted by 36 km object. Hellas is 5 km deep and 2,000 km wide impacted by a 1,00 km object. Isidis is 1,500 km wide impacted by a 50 km object. Mars has over 3,305 craters that are wider than 30 km and 93 percent lie south of the line of dichotomy. Mars gravitational pull could have broke up a passing body into fragments. The lack of a strong atmosphere would increase the likelihood of impact and may have trigger volcanic eruptions on the opposite side of Mars. Large fragments of Mars surface could have been ejected into space.…

When new money or credit is added to an economy, thus diluting the existing supply, the general level of prices (aggregate prices) will rise, assuming the amount of goods and services within the system stays the same." This dilution causes the banks to raise rates to cover the devaluation. More dollars are required to buy a given quantity of goods. The dollar value is diminished. Inflation is monetary expansion: more money chasing a diminish supply of goods and services. "Anything that artificially increases aggregate demand for goods and services is inflation." The demand is artificial because it does not result from increased productivity, but from inflation. Inflation is paying today's debts with cheaper money in the future. The result is that prices rise. In true economic growth, price fall, as increases in productivity output raise the supply of goods relative to the supply of money.…

Sovereign Wealth Funds have been around for decades, but were not seen as a serious player in the global economy until 2005 when the US Federal Reserve, who were worried about the growing US budget deficit, made it clear they would not tolerate sovereign wealth funds buying up US assets This was seen as an attempt to protect the US economy and the US Dollar from the China threat Shortly thereafter, the US Congress passed the Foreign Investment and National Security Act of 2007, and China announced that they would no longer buy US assets https://www.govinfo.gov/app/details/PLAW-110publ49 With the US out of the picture, Chinese investors started to look elsewhere in the world for opportunities In 2007, the Chinese government created a sovereign wealth fund called the China Investment Corporation, and the next year it was announced that the CIC would be buying 10% of Blackstone Group, a US private equity firm The CIC's investment in Blackstone was seen as an investment in the US, and it was also seen as a way to get around the foreign ownership restrictions in China, and to invest in companies in China that were listed on the NYSE and other international stock exchanges In 2009, the CIC invested $3 billion in Morgan Stanley, and $5 billion in the Blackstone Group, valuing the two companies at $37 5 billion and $37 billion, respectively The CIC's Canadian investments have not always fared well.
