2nd Chronicles 7:13, 14 – “If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Please note that the 1st part is in English, and the 2nd part is in Malayalam starting at 17:45 mark.
This is God’s answer to King Solomon’s prayer after building the temple of Jerusalem. This is God’s covenant with Solomon. In the presence of all the assembly of Israel Solomon spread out his hands towards heaven. Solomon praised God for all the good things He had done to his father, David. He asked forgiveness for all the sins of his people. Then he begged God to hear his prayers and the prayers of everyone who prays with a repentant heart. With the entire assembly of the people he offered to God burnt offerings, peace offerings and grain offerings for seven days and seven nights.
2nd Chronicles 7:1,2 – “Now when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the house. The priests could not enter into the house of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled the Lord’s house.” Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.”
