The term "apologetics" is a legal term that speaks to the making of a case for something. When we speak of Christian apologetics, we are addressing the idea of making a case for why Christianity is true. In this episode, I address what apologetics is and what it is not. I also share a little bit of my background as to how I got into apologetics and why it is important.
Apologetics is also multifaceted in that it can deepen our discipleship, refute error in the church, validate Christian truth, and aid in our evangelism. I also address the goals of apologetics, what it does not do, and what it can do. If you are one that thinks it is not necessary for the church today, the chances are that you have not studied the Bible to see that all throughout the Bible we see those in the forefront defending their faith.
Socrates once states that "the unexamined life is a life not worth living." But I tell each and everyone of US, that the unexamined belief is one that is not worth believing. Apologetics helps you and I engage what we believe in order to go deeper in our discipleship and live a biblically disciplined life to the glory of our Lord.
