A thief tries to rob an old lady of her purse, and things go badly for him. He imprudently chose Texas as the jurisdiction for this robbery attempt, and he quickly finds himself surrounded by a half-dozen good Samaritans ready and willing to make a citizen’s arrest to foil his criminal plan—including two men attempting to restrain the thief on the ground and a woman standing a few feet away and pointing a handgun towards the struggling men.
Suddenly the robber breaks free and makes a run for it—and that’s when the armed woman lets loose a shot at the robber’s fleeing back. And we have the video to share with all of you!
Lawful shoot? Even in Texas, with its uniquely and infamously generous provisions for using deadly force in defense of property? Even with its unusual allowance for the use of deadly force in making a citizen’s arrest? Let’s discuss!
