Today, Craig and LaDonna Smith return to their series on The Who, What, and Why of Scripture. This series focuses on one of the most important doctrines in all of Scripture, the doctrine of Holiness. Because, as the Scriptures teaches, without holiness, you cannot see the Lord! As they introduce this important concept, the Smiths uncover two different yet interdependent aspects of holiness, and you can't have one without the other. Another key component you will learn about is the doctrine of Separation, which is such an integral part of the larger picture of holiness. You'll be reminded that separation does not mean living in a cave somewhere isolated from the world, because we are called to be salt and light to a lost and unsaved world. We don't have much time left to win people to Christ. So we must engage the culture, engage the community, and represent Christ well. But how will a lost world be drawn to a Savior we say can make such a difference in our lives if we are not living lives that demonstrate the transformational work that only Christ can provide? No, separation is not isolation from the world, but separation from the way the world acts and lives! We are to let our lights so shine that they may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven! And this doctrine of Separation is critical to getting that right!
