V.15 – a fortiori argument, strong to stronger

V.16 – the promises of God to Abraham were a covenant

V.17 – Now that Paul has shown that the covenant of Abraham applies to Christians (faith) his point is simple.

V.18 – The promise of an inheritance rests on a promise, not by works of the law.
