Day 335 of the podcast, reading 2 Corinthians 10-13 NET, read along at:
https://netbible.org/bible/2+Corinthians+10-13/
This is day 335 of our journey.
Paul concludes his letter with a long defense of his position as an apostle and minister to Corinth. False teachers had come denigrating Paul and questioning his authority and motives. Paul responds with a reminder of his character and treatment of them. He has not taken advantage of his position, but rather has provided all his services without payment. In all of this conflict, Paul rejoices in his weaknesses so that the power of God may be evident in strength. Paul signs off with a promise to come to them soon, and a hope that he will not need to deal harshly with them when he arrives.
Join me in 2 Corinthians 10-13 for Paul's concluding remarks to Corinth.
Key verses:
2 Corinthians 10:18
For it is not the person who commends himself who is approved, but the person the Lord commends.
2 Corinthians 11:3
But I am afraid that just as the serpent deceived Eve by his treachery, your minds may be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
2 Corinthians 12:10
Therefore I am content with weaknesses, with insults, with troubles, with persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 13:10
Because of this I am writing these things while absent, so that when I arrive I may not have to deal harshly with you by using my authority – the Lord gave it to me for building up, not for tearing down!
