When John David Mann writes a book, I take notice and read it. His latest book The Recipe is a delicious book, perfect for leaders and those interested in building a more cohesive team. John sent me a near final PDF to read back on a Tuesday in May. I fully expected to skim the table of contents, and then put it away until nearer release time, as I had a bit on my plate at the time. Instead, I dug in, and after reading the table of contents and then finishing my work day, I devoured it all that evening. The book is that good!
In this all too brief conversation, John dives into some of the lessons from his latest book, The Recipe. The parable in the book is one we can all relate to, especially if you ever worked in food service. It's about the mentoring of a young boy by Chef, and how the boy overcomes himself to unleash the leader inside him.
