Sermon: Moving from coping to conquering...
Scripture: John 16:33 & 1 John 5:4-5
' “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”'
-John 16:33
'for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. '
-1 John 5:4-5
INTRODUCTION: Are you coping or conquering? What does it mean to be an Overcomer?
Def. One who conquers challenges and adversities.
Three Steps to Moving from Coping to Conquering:
- Change Mindsets...Moving from a coping mindset to a conquering mindset
As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
-Proverbs 23:7
- Cultivate Faith...Moving from doubt to faith
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
-Romans 10:17
- Claim Victory...Moving from defeat to victory
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
-Romans 8:37
Conclusion: It's time to bust a move! It's time to make a bold decision!
