This episode looks at the frequent occurrence where vibrant black cities and communities were destroyed during the early part of the 20th Century, either violently or through "legal" means. Here I focus on two black communities based in Florida that were destroyed during this period: Ocoee and Goldsboro. The black community in Ocoee was violently destroyed election night of 1920, and Goldsboro was destroyed when the Florida legislature abolished its charter and absorbed it into the city of Sanford. This ended with a case that went to the Florida Supreme Court.
