This week, Australian former Barrister, Author, Theatre and film Producer, Charles Waterstreet joins Russell on the podcast. Throughout Charles’s career, he appeared for many defendants in social security cases, murder trials, drug trials, rape cases and false memory trials. After the NSW Bar Association cancelled his practising certificate, he turned down a slightly different path, and became a columnist for The Sydney Morning Herald. Along with this, Charles has also written two memoirs and produced two films throughout his lengthly career and is known as the inspiration for the recent ABC TV series Rake, which is based loosely on his professional and personal life.
In this episode, Russell and Charles discuss how his journey through addictions shaped his character and formed his well admired nature that he’s known and acknowledged for amongst the public.
