Bomani Jones is joined by David Aldridge, of The Athletic, to discuss his new book called “The Basketball 100.” The guys begin the conversation by talking about the process of making the book and some of the forgotten bucket getters in the league like Elgin Baylor and David Bing. (1:00) They also examine the 1970s which could go down as the most forgotten and democratic era of the NBA. From there, David brings up dynasties and it leads Bomani to ask him whether he prefers dominance or parity following his conversation with Mina Kimes earlier this week. (9:35) Then Bomani goes through the list of 100 players and asks David his thought process on them while writing this book. Players like Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Irving, and whether or not Scottie Pippen was underrated or overrated. (28:50) And finally, the guys chat about Moses Malone’s boring game, Jimmy Butler being #99 on the list, and why Charles Barkley was easily the best player on the iconic Dream Team. (51:00)
