Yasmin Hyde is the founder of Ballymaloe Foods, an internationally known and much loved Irish family food company, and daughter of Irish food hero Myrtle Allen. In this fascinating conversation, she gives us an insight into her upbringing and the huge influence her parents have played in both her personal and business life. We speak about early memories at Ballymaloe House, what it is like working in a family businesses, the drive when setting up her own enterprise, and how she has moved this forward into a company employing over 30 people, with a product that is found worldwide. We hear who is inspiring her today, her guiding tips for young food entrepreneurs today and what her hopes are for the future of Ballymaloe Foods.
This recording took place in front of a live audience and was kindly hosted by Crawford Art Gallery in Cork city centre as part of the first Cork on a Fork food festival, supported by Cork City Council.
