SUMMARY
An old man and a younger gentleman are escorted towards the house by a group of villagers, from the first word out of the eldest of them, Huck can tell right away that these people are the Real relatives of the Wilks family. The Duke and the King get called out for being frauds, and the Huck gets dragged into the mix by a man who claims to have seen them in town a couple of days beforehand. They all get taken into town, and once at the hotel, the Doctor starts to interrogate the King, the Duke, and Huck. The Doctor asks Huck if he too is from England, and when he says yes, they laugh, and don’t ask Huck anything further.
The men go back and forth, asking the Duke, and the old man in turn for their stories, and after Huck pretends to tell about Sheffield, the men laugh again, and the Lawyer says that Huck needs to get better at lying… The Lawyer then asks both the old man, and the Duke to write on a sheet of paper so that he can compare their handwriting against the letters that the brothers sent to each other. No one’s handwriting matches the letters, and the old man then goes to claim that his brother is the one who writes his letters for him, but as he has a broken arm, he cannot write anything to prove this claim. The Old man then asks if anyone in the room saw Wilks’ body before he was interred, and then asks if the Duke can say what he had tattooed on his body. men to prepared the body however claim that they didn’t see anything.
Someone then suggests that the dig up the body and check for the marks, and so they all go over to the burial site, dig up the body...
