The Author Roundup: Kristyna Dosedelova on Encouraging Children to Embrace the Wonders of Nature

The Book Connection

Born in Czechoslovakia under the communist regime, Kristyna Dosedelova discovered the joys of writing in first grade. However, the political climate did not encourage such pursuits, and as time passed, her love for the written word became buried—until conversations with her mom during the pandemic helped her rediscover her passion.
It was also at this time that her volunteer work as a gardener in a community park helped her realize the importance of connecting with nature.
We sat down with her as she talked to us about how her love for writing and nature all came together in her first ever children's book, which she hopes will inspire kids to explore the wonders of the natural world and foster a love for the outdoors that will last a lifetime.
