On June 25th 2025, in collaboration with Open Folk, we presented our first ever live interview event in Los Angeles. As Open Folk put it: "In These Lines is a live event where three artists each bring one song — not just to perform, but to explore. They sit down with Sofia Loporcaro, host of Before The Chorus, to talk about where the song came from, what it meant to write it, and what it still holds. Then they play it. Just the song, and the truth behind it." Before a song is released, a record is produced, or a chorus is written, the musicians that write them think. A lot. They live. A lot. And they feel. A LOT. Hosted by award-winning interviewer Sofia Loporcaro, Before the Chorus explores the genuine human experiences behind the music. Sofia’s deep knowledge of music and personal journey with mental health help her connect with artists on a meaningful level. This is a space where fans connect with artists, and listeners from all walks of life feel seen through the stories that shape the music we love. About the host: Sofia Loporcaro is an award-winning interviewer and radio host who’s spent over 8 years helping musicians share their stories. She’s hosted shows for Amazing Radio, and Transmission Roundhouse. Now on Before the Chorus, she’s had the chance to host guests like Glass Animals, Feist, Madison Cunningham, Mick Jenkins, & Ru Paul's Drag Race winner Shea Couleé. Learn more about your ad choices. In Episode 4 of The Badass Coder Podcast series, we sat down with Tiana Kara, a badass woman in tech who is the Head of Partnerships and Growth at #BUILTBYGIRLS. An organization that was recently celebrated by EventBrite and Elle magazine for their outstanding leadership with helping to prepare the next generation of women leaders, builders and creators in tech. Just like networking, this all started out with a simple conversation. A conversation based on why it was important for people(especially women) to start building relationships with peers by networking across instead of up. We have all heard this saying before, “It is not what you know but it is who you know” that has motivated us to get through the door but only to leave us to a surprise in the end. Listen to hear more about Tiana’s journey on how she leveled up her focus from networking up to networking across while in college. This shift has made a huge impact not only within her life but in the success of her career too.…

It’s time to redefine failure! In episode one of The Badass Coder Podcast series, we sat down with Bie Aweh who is a tech expert in talent and development and who discussed how she faced a ton of rejection while breaking into the tech industry and did not allow it to necessarily defined her. She knew it was all in how she responded to the rejection that did, so instead of throwing in the towel or giving up on her dream, she discovered a new way of how she can turn her setbacks into new opportunities that only led her towards a collaboration with LinkedIn, becoming a founding member of the HBCU.VC fellowship as seen in Forbes, career coaching and more.
