Won't give up fast till AFSPA is repealed from Manipur: Irom Sharmila tells NHRC

Irom Sharmila Chanu has been on a fast since 4 November 2000 demanding that the Armed Forces Special Powers Act be repealed from Manipur. On 23 October, National Human Rights Commission of India chief K. G. Balakrishnan along with other members met Irom to talk about the provisions to bring amendments to the Act.
