Prentice is a Father….. FIRST. In addition, the Oakland native is also a poet and teacher. Why Is He Relevant? Prentice is relevant because his poetry speaks to current topics. He hits you with the truth, even when you don’t recognize it. He makes you think about life and yourself on a different level. How Does He Inspire Us? Aside from his stand out poetry, it is his work with over 100 African American males that inspires us. His hard work and the examples he sets is what has captured their attention and made them want to be better.
