The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a great boom in VC funding in the biotechnology sector. VC companies increased their investments in biotech startups from 2,200 globally in 2016 to 3,100 by 2021. Having a biology degree and working in a biotech startup, I am sure that those numbers will become more and more each year.
