The National Qualifications Framework Act, 2008, establishes a comprehensive system for the classification, registration, publication, and articulation of quality-assured national qualifications in South Africa. It outlines the responsibilities of the Minister of Education and the Minister of Labour, the role of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), and the functions of Quality Councils (QCs) for different education sectors.
