Postpartum depression can be debilitating and is an awful situation for both mother and child. But imagine that you just had a baby, dealing with 4 additional small children and you've been diagnosed with postpartum psychosis and were living in a 350 sq ft. greyhound bus. Sounds like the ingredients for disaster does it not? This was the life of Andrea Pia Kennedy Yates.

Andrea suffered from undiagnosed depression early on in her life, got married and started having kids. She suffered from delusions, hallucinations, depression, obsessiveness and suicidal thoughts. Who would have thought that she had the capability to drown all 5 of her children? There were many many signs, hospitalizations and drs told her not to have any more children but she nor husband listened. There's always a reason why things happen, but who is to blame here? While Andrea no doubt carries the brunt of the blame, she isn't alone. Should we blame Rusty Yates, her devoted husband who didn't protest having more kids? Was it the drs that failed her by not prescribing the right medications? Or was it the insurance company that kicked Andrea out of the treatment center she was in after the money ran out?
