I settled & it robbed me

This is an episode I need to be reminded of and will come back to again and again.

I heard a quote recently along the lines of... 'your close friends and family want the version of you that makes them most comfortable' and it really hit home for me. This podcast is really my thoughts on that, along with my own commitment to where I'm headed and who I be as a human - for me rather than anybody else.

We also by nature want to feel comfortable... and that often means fitting in. If most people around you are settling for 'ok' then there's a pull towards that always present in your environment. It's why I listen to certain people and podcasts daily, and in part why I'm recording this podcast to share with you all as well.

One of the most subtle ways settling seems 'ok' is... praise from others! Yep that's what I meant to write!

Just because somebody else said something was great doesn't necessarily equate to fulfilment within you. You will know if you are truly present or not.

AND...

The side I didn't chat about - it's totally ok to give yourself grace to move towards the new standards and image of yourself that you've set. You don't learn guitar or build amazing physique overnight.
