This Is Woman's Work with Nicole Kalil

Let’s talk about adulting— actual adulting. Not just paying bills or keeping a houseplant alive, but the kind that involves emotional maturity, healthy boundaries, and conscious self-leadership. Because let’s be honest, most of us weren’t taught how to be fully functioning adults… and it shows. Joining us is Michelle Chalfant , licensed therapist turned holistic life coach, creator of The Adult Chair® model, and author of the new book The Adult Chair: Get Unstuck, Claim Your Power, and Transform Your Life . With millions reached through her podcast, coaching programs, and retreats, she’s here to walk us through the five pillars of being a healthy, grounded adult. Here’s the truth: being an adult isn’t about checking boxes or pretending you’re fine. It’s about owning your truth. Feeling your feelings. Practicing compassion without letting yourself off the hook. It’s about setting firm boundaries—with no need for justification—and recognizing that your triggers are not flaws, they’re clues. None of us were handed a guidebook for how to grow up emotionally. We inherited patterns from people who were figuring it out as they went. But what Michelle shares today is empowering: it’s never too late to unlearn what no longer serves you and become the adult you were meant to be. Whether you’re starting this work or knee-deep in your personal development era, this episode will meet you where you are—and help you move forward with clarity, self-trust, and strength. Stefan met again with André Staltz, who is known for his excellent contributions to functional reactive programming. This time however, we go a more non-technical route, and chat about how we can build our own internet, and how other people are already doing it. We chat about personal LANs, the on-your-phone Facebook alternative, and many other challenges that we face when we want to put control back to our users. It's like the internet of the 90s, remastered, and exciting. Join us and don't forget to support André on Open Collective! ScriptCast - A podcast about JavaScript

A small interlude why I recover from a cold. ScriptCast season 3 is in full swing, with four interviews coming up in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, let's have a look at what's in store with the upcoming DevOne conference, taking place on April 11, 2019. Check out the website, check out the CfP and have fun listening to Donovan Brown from Microsoft! Donovan is Principal DevOps Manager at Microsoft, for the now called "Azure DevOps" team, formerly known as VSTS. In his talk you hear how Microsoft embarked on their own DevOps journey reducing a three-year release cycle down to three weeks. This required changes to their people, process and products. Donovan Brown from the League of Extraordinary Cloud DevOps Advocates will share insights into the agile transformation of Microsoft's Developer Division and showcase newest additions to Azure and how to use Visual Studio Team Services to deploy any language on any platform, including Windows, Linux, mobile and containers. I met with Sara Vieira, developer advocate at YLD.io, to talk about how many conferences are too much? Sara is well known in the JavaScript world for her exciting and captivating talks, for being a power house on stage and not shy of a joke. Listen to her about how she learned to slow down the hard way, and what she does to keep a good balance between life and work. For the start of season 3 I met with Martin Hochel, a developer from Prague who has a strong affinity for static types. Combining his love for TypeScript and his day to day work as a front-end developer, he started contributing to the React type definitions for TypeScript, used by 1.7 million people. With Martin we find out the biggest challenges when using React along with TypeScript, its benefits, and how it feels to break builds for million of users.
