This month was Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) in Canada. In 2017, Stats Canada shared that 3.6 million working-age Canadians identified as having a disability. Only 59% were employed. COVID-19 has substantially intensified the situation. Currently, about 1 million Canadian job seekers with disabilities are either unemployed or underemployed.
