An interesting evening last night and an interesting morning today. Interesting, more like enlightening.
The following poem is a result of last night’s revelation from God. This morning when I opened my Bible, it opened to Psalm 31. This was not of my doing. I know that the poem is rather cryptic. But is what I believe I was lead to write.
Psalm 31
For the director of music. A psalm of David
1 In you, LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness, 2 Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me. 3 Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. 4 keep me free from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge. 5 Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me LORD, my faithful God. (NIV)
BEWARE
Yesterday my world was turned upside down,
Or so I thought.
I had been caught
Believing the lie
And was wondering why
The words of the song
Were ever so wrong.
Jesus often said, “Let those who have ears hear,
And those who have eyes see.”
What did I hold dear?
What would I be?
So many times we were warned
By the voices the world scorned.
We were told to take beware.
We were told to take care.
I had believed more than one false teacher.
For that there is no rhyme.
My focus was still Jesus,
God’s Son who saved us.
But there are those who changed God’s word
So often through songs we have heard.
Yesterday I was given sight
Into the darkening light
Of too often believing
Those who are deceiving.
One can say Jesus is Lord
To the lost earthly horde.
But what lies behind the word
They have sung that we have heard?
When the singing does end,
What message do they send?
We must understand
This has been planned,
Beyond the song,
For way too long.
May our faith be strong.
Our God is never changing.
We are not to be rearranging
His word spoken that we have heard.
Jesus is the Word.
He is all we need.
Our needs he does fed.
There is nothing beyond
The word of God,
Nothing to add to it.
Look beyond the song
Through faith strong.
Look beyond the song book.
Look for the hook.
My world turned upside down.
No, it was set right
So I would not drown.
In truth there is no fright.

NEVER FORSAKEN
Those who know Your name trust You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You.
Psalm 9:10
What words of hope
As we live to cope
In the world that surrounds us.
Never forsaken, God sent us Jesus.
We believe,
We receive
God’s loving grace.
We do run our race
Knowing we will fall.
We will hear His call
As our bodies raise.
It is God we do praise,
His forgiving ways
As we live our days.
Seek and you shall find.
Knock and the door will be opened.
Having done so,
He will never forsake us.
And this we know
Because we walk with Jesus.

April 25, 2020
It has been a rough couple of weeks. I have found that it is one thing to stay home for days on end. It is completely different when told to STAY home. I have had thoughts of not writing anymore. I even talked to God about it. So as I was walking to the kitchen this morning the first two lines of the following poem came to mind. I knew I had to write them down. Over the next half hour more lines came to me and I went to the kitchen to write them down. Finally I sat and wrote the last 8 lines or so. The Last Notebook is now finished,
THE LAST POEM
The crystal hue
Of the morning dew,
The skies are blue;
Begin the day anew.
Heaven in its glory
Continuing the story.
The sun, the stars and the moon
All will be seen soon;
Always somewhere,
Everywhere.
Stop and stare,
If you dare.
And then share.
Lay your soul bare
And understand
When you stand
It was not man’s command;
It was by God’s hand
The heavens and earth were formed,
All to His word conformed.
Then he placed us here,
Always knowing without fear.
Look up, He is always here
To wipe away a tear.
Though we may turn our wandering eye,
Through His Word, Jesus, we will not die.
As we look up
Receive the cup
He poured out for us,
The sacrifice, God’s Son, Jesus.

AS WE CLOSE IN PRAYER, MAY WE CONTINUE IN PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father we come to you in prayer as we end today’s podcast. Dave and I thank You for Your leading us through the day and into tomorrow. We pray that today has been pleasing to You and honors Your glory.
We pray for our listeners and viewers; for their needs, healing and the salvation of those who have not yet accepted the gift of Your grace by faith.
We pray, Lord, for this world in which we live. Father, as Christians lead us to proclaiming the gospel where ever we are. May we do so in a loving way. Lead us to the truth of the days we are living in. We pray for the nation of Ukraine and its people; its leaders, those who have fled the country to find safety, those who are still trying to leave the country and those who are staying to fight the invading army of their enemy. May their faith and determination be an example to the entire world.
Dear Lord, prepare us and our listeners and viewers for the coming week. We pray that it is You we live for and You who leads us. As we walk with you this week, may it be Your hand clasped around our hand so we may feel the grasp of Your love.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer.
Amen
