Police said the gunman who killed the CEO of UnitedHealthcare may have quickly fled New York City on a bus. The manhunt continues two days after the brazen ambush in Midtown Manhattan.

The judge overseeing Daniel Penny's trial for a fatal subway chokehold dismissed the manslaughter charge after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict. Jurors will return on Monday to consider a lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide.

A federal appeals court panel upheld a law requiring TikTok to sever ties with its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, or face a ban in the United States by mid-January 2025. The court denied TikTok's petition to overturn the law.
